Does the skewer "head" come off seperately from the "tray" on the copperhead Yakima rack? I want to also have a skewer "head" that I can use for a seperate application.

My daughter is 11 years old and has been boarding one full season with a beginner and an advanced lesson at Red Lodge ski area in Montana. Is 125 cm too long a board for her?
