Sturdy watch

Nixon Manual Watch - Men's

Nixon Manual Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 10, 2010

Nice watch - I've owned mine for 5 years and it is still going strong. It's nothing fancy and it doesn't call attention to itself, but it's a classy watch that just keeps on ticking. Only had to change the battery once so far (2 yrs ago). It is water-"proof" for light dunks in the shower/river/pool, but I wouldn't wear mine in the ocean or go diving with it - I wore it in a river in the amazon (no joke) and aside from some light fogging on the face that went away after an hour, it was fine.

The band is sturdy too, but you'll have to take it to a jeweler to get segments removed/added if it doesn't fit you right out of the box. Some light scratches on the band are all that's to show from 5 years of every-day wear. I have the black face with aluminum band, and it's very easy to read in a hurry. No scratches on the face yet. Can't beat it for the price.

Backpack Europe

The North Face Skareb 55 Backpack - 3050-3650 cu in

The North Face Skareb 55 Backpack - 3050-3650 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2008

Used this backpack when packing across Europe for 2 months straight, and then on several 5day - 3 week excursions. Great for holding a few changes of clothes, as well as stuff like passport, camera, and necessities. Very comfortable, and the lack of zipper access to the main compartment keeps prying hands out when you're on a crowded train or bus. I kept my wallet, passport, camera, etc... in the pack rather than in my pockets due to my comfortability with its bizarre but secure "flip and clip" closure - nobody will be able to mess with it without you definitely knowing. The pack itself is essentially one big compartment, with some exterior side pockets and a large mesh quick-stash.
