I love MontBell's gear - really well made and designed to do what is advertised. Very lightweight jacket, sizing seems fine to me, I think some people are just a little odd in how they are put together, cannot blame a company for that. You can always send it back even though you have to pay for shipping. I think the durability of this jacket may not be great but it does not really sell itself as such. Adjustable cuffs is a plus, adjustable waist is a plus and some tougher material in abrasion areas all combine for a great jacket. I would not use it for bushwacking....but as a warm down jacket for backpacking or walks on cold days - absolutely!

These are perfect for hot weather hiking, I tried them in CA and in humid VA and they are great, they do not smell really bad after a hike, can be used again...always a plus, very light weight as well. Not sure about durability...

So far so good, I am impressed with the Osprey workmanship and this bag is not different. Have used it once and it survived the airport luggage handlers, good grips on the bag so I think that helps a lot. Carried it 2 miles with the backpack straps and about 25 lbs in it, that was a little mixed, also carried my nomal day pack on the front (kangaroo action) and that was a fair amount of weight at the end of a long day. For this size duffel I think the those straps are fine, I sure hope they have something better for the larger duffels. All in all I am quite happy with this, would give it 5 stars if I knew it would last a long time...its also a bit bulky to carry, needs to be a bit longer and hence thinner...

I bought this as a backup for bike excursions and, of course, the low price. Pertex seems a great material that is showing up on the lighter gear, seems pretty strong to me. This is a very light jacket that packs really small so I always have it with me. Once I have tried it in more serious weather I may modify this review.
Addition: Works very well for biking in my view, cuts the wind down and breathes pretty well. Have not tried it in the rain.

Nicely designed shirt that works well in shifting temperatures. Its still too warm in CA right now to really test this but I like.... Montane enjoys a good reputation in Europe and the price on these was great. I might give it 5 stars after I have tried it in the cold.

I have only tried this jacket once last week in the remnants of a Pacific typhoon down by the bay. Horizontal rain, windy and just a generally fairly nasty afternoon. The jacket fits me very well, no sizing problems of any kind. Its very waterproof but at this stage in its life it should be. An excellent well designed hood, I usually wear a hat because of the vision but that was unfeasible on that day so I tried the hood. Just to test how breathable this jacket is I ran some distance and I think it could use pit zips or something to vent the inside. I was wearing merino as a base so the damp does not matter too much but the jury is still out on that. It was a warm day as well. Overall I think it is great, the half price on EVent was brilliant and I have a picture of Chris Townsend wearing this jacket so it cannot be too bad...

I love this jacket for late Spring to early October. Breathes really well, warms the body well when needed and holds off the rain on drizzly days. Great for hiking and of course biking. Only downside is the lack of hem drawstring but I added that and am now ready to go..... It is a bit pricey but Arc is really high quality - take a look at the seams! How many stitches per inch???

This is perfect for hot weather escapades, cools very well, a very light shirt and it does not harbor stink. Great for hiking and bike riding and it looks kind of cooooooooooool.....

Perfect for hiking & biking in CA. Ventilates a lot better than the cheaper tops.

Works really well for biking in the Bay area. Enough wind gets through to give some cooling and will hold off everything but a major downpour. Nice to wear for hiking as well. And it does have a drawstring which I think is great. Very happy with this shirt....

Nice jacket that keeps you warm in moderate conditions. Beware of the sizing - things are smaller than usual - I needed an XL instead of L. One negative - needs a drawstring on the waist. Customer service exceptionally good !

Looks like a very nice pullover but beware of the sizing. Everything is a little small so I needed an XL instead of L. Cannot wait to try this on a wet bike ride....

When you warm up in your pants things begin to itch a little but it is wool, otherwise a great comfortable brief. Probably needs colder temperatures for their best effect.

For day hikes this is the ultimate. Very airy on your back (good for CA), takes a lot of gear (not sure where it all comes from) and very comfortable to carry.

This shirt is great for warm days of bicycle riding. The service from these guys was outstanding again.

This is a killer shirt-wicks the moisture very well and is very light to wear. I may need more of these....

Good: Carries very well and insulates the water. Lots of space to store water and a large pack compared to most CamelBak models.

Bad: No small pocket to store keys, knife etc. North Face water bottle is pathetic.
