Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Softshell Jacket - Men's
October 27, 2009
I have both jackets and although I haven't done a side by side comparison, I leave one at work one at home, I would say they're going to be about the same as far as warmth and water resistance.

Marmot Lithium Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Not sure how high you'll be camping but 15F or colder isn't uncommon as a nite low in the smokies at higher elevations (4000+ ft) in the winter months. So, no, this isn't too much of a bag. The fit in a long is roomy for me at 6' 165 lbs so you should be ok.

Marmot Helium Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
September 15, 2009
I am 6'0" and need the long in all my sleeping bags. The longs are ~3" too long for a 6' but the regular isn't long enough IMO.

Marmot Helium Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

I have both bags. The Pinnacle has a draft collar which I think makes it warmer. But it is also a 3lb 0oz bag and this is a 2lb 4oz bag for both in long.
