Great winter shoe!

Salomon Lodger Clog - Women's

Salomon Lodger Clog - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 11, 2009

In search of an insulated winter SHOE not a clog, not fleece, found and ordered the Lodger. (I really wanted the SnowClog3 but at the time it was out of stock.) It's my first pair of Salomons. I usually wear sz8.5 or 9, depending on the brand. With this model, I took a 9. I've only had the shoes about a week, and have worn them almost every day! Just to work, not heavily tested yet in any sort of inclement weather. (Hence only 4 stars; I can't vouch for the waterproofness.) Very comfortable, and my toes are staying toasty. Ahhh! Got a few complements on them too. I'm just 12wks post bunion surgery, and this is one pair of shoes that is helping my 'new' toe roll normally LOL. Wish I had found these a couple of months ago, but hey it's only February, we've got lots more winter to go yet!!
Suggestions: I've been using a shoehorn to slip my feet in. And no heavy socks, that would be too much. The heel in back of your achilles isn't snug, a good thing, but the shoe does slide just a tad up and down in back when I walk. But YMMV - everyone's foot shape is different.
(PS: The Snowclog3's came back in stock, and I like the Lodger so much that I got those too. They came today.)

Just got mine today

Salomon Snowclog 3 - Women's

Salomon Snowclog 3 - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 11, 2009

I usually wear a sz8.5 or 9, depending on the brand. I initially ordered the SnowClog3 in sz 9. The fit was almost perfect except that the front corner of my big toes were rubbing against the inside of the shoe. Bummer. Then they went out of stock, and so I ordered the 'sister' model Lodger instead. (The Lodger sz9 fits perfectly.) I've had those about a week, love them, then found that the SnowClog was back IN stock, so grabbed those in a sz 9.5. They arrived today, and I've worn them only a couple hours around the house. Now I have both models!!

The fit between Lodger and SnowClog is definitely different!! I would say the SnowClog runs about 1/2 size smaller than Lodger. Lodger 9 = SnowClog 9.5. But SnowClog feels a little roomier side-to-side in the forefoot, and the tongue is a little bit taller. The insulation seems to be placed different in both too- in Lodger, the toe box sidewalls feel like they have a thicker lining than SnowClog.

Good news on fit- my toes are not hitting the end in the sz9.5, and it feels like I can wear heavier-gauge socks in these than I can in Lodger. So I'm calling these a keeper.
