The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's

May 8, 2009

I have a Apex with a hood. It isn't removable, but is a very nice addition to the jacket when needing to shield my big fat head.

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's

May 8, 2009

Hey Bro---
I have Apex gloves and got diesel fuel on them. I tried it all and if finally found that a small amount of Simple Green and water then mixed in a bucket and let soak awhile, then wash it in the washing machine like normal with SG and it took care of it. SG smells a bit minty or aromatic of some kind, but that goes away in a day or so of air out. SG is a degreaser so don't use it full strength I am not sure how the fabric would react(delaminate?).

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 6, 2009

I wear these as a primary pant when the weather is 0 degrees and above and I layer the compressor pant over them when colder. I have to take a open car tram to the top of a mountain out on the Bering Sea Coast. It is wicked wicked weather and these pants do the job very well. Mt co-workers are in Carhartts and other stuff and are usually so cold by the top that they have to be helped out of the tram. Guess what I am usually the person that is helping them. I have never been cold or wet when wearing my MH products.

The North Face Apex Bionic Hooded Jacket - Men's

The North Face Apex Bionic Hooded Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2008

I work in the very most remote corner of Alaska from Cape Lisburne to Kaktovik and a few places in between. I see every possible weather pattern and even some anomalies. This jacket lets me layer what I need to fight off -55 degree killer cold or hike the beaches looking for Ivory at 55 degrees. I will wear this sucker out. It even looks good when I go to Anchorage for a beer.

The North Face Apex Glove - Men's

The North Face Apex Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2008

Great medium weight gloves that due to there extreme wind blocking feel about 10 times as thick. Blocking the wind completely especially when it is -30 means a bunch. I can even throw my beaver mittens over them to stay very warm and when I have to do work I can pull my gloved hand out and these are very form fitting and have a great tactile feel to them so I can do semi technical work with them still on. Finally a snug good fitting glove that I can thread a 3/4 inch nut and washer to the bolt in killer cold. Lifesavers in many ways
