The best helmet I have ever used.

Red Hi-Fi Helmet

Red Hi-Fi Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 January 7, 2009

First impression: Pretty tight and narrow.

When I tried it on, it seemed a little too tight, I got a Medium and I have lots of hair. But from previous experience with any helmet, your head magically shrinks a bit on the mountains. So they gave the best fit I can ever ask for.

The Hi-Fi is so incredibly light, I honestly can say that I didn't know it was on my head.

The ventilation did seem iffy at first, as it doesn't have vents in the front, but it kept my head aired and never overheated.

Bottomline: Best helmet you can ask for.

Get this instead of the non-hooded Denali

The North Face Denali Hooded Fleece Jacket - Men's

The North Face Denali Hooded Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

For a couple more bones, I highly recommend getting this over the original non-hooded Denali. (Unless you do your hair everyday and you live in a sunny state). The hood on this jacket not only keeps rain out, it also keeps your head/ears very warm. And when it goes on your back, it pops out and looks awesome. The hood is non-removable, but it fits great on your head and there's adjustable drawstrings to keep it tight on your face. Everyone will look at you and say "Woah, how comes YOUR Denali has a hood and the other 30 people I saw today doesn't"

The North Face Redpoint Optimus Insulated Jacket - Men's

December 8, 2008

It's not a live Q&A session. Other users see your question when they see it and if they can help, they do. Your question was one that apparently no one knew the answer to (I don't either), so no one answered. If you get on Live Chat, you can get someone at BC to go to the warehouse and look at the zipper and sleeve and answer your question. It's the blue button on the very top right corner of the screen.I have last season's Non-Hooded Redpoint and it DOES have two way zipper. I can zip it in with my Various Guide. The non-hooded does not have the "Summit Series" on arm.

The North Face Denali Glove

December 8, 2008

Well that would be up to the local store. But it comes all new with tags, so I don't see why they wouldn't exchange with you.Backcountry.com only has one location; Salt Lake City, Utah. Stores I have dealt with whine about it messing up their inventories.Any The North Face store will let you exchange if it is the current model and you have original The North Face tags on them. (And in new condition, of course)

The North Face Denali Glove

December 8, 2008

I don't think they have a shell. I'd recommend the Apex Bionic gloves if you want better water resistance. These are just like the Denali jacket. They will get wet, they will get dirty, the Polarfleec will become little balls. Overall, very nice gloves, but not for the yard work :]

Awesome jacket, but some down points

The North Face Redpoint Optimus Insulated Jacket - Men's

The North Face Redpoint Optimus Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 23, 2008

Good: Light, soft, versatile, STOW technology (folds into a small pillow), very nice water repellant coat. Can be used as a outer layer or insulated baselayer.

Bad: Hood is HUGE, it can fit a helmet in it. Armpits will stink because of tight insulation and if you sweat a lot.

Overall: Very satisfied with this jacket :]
