Feels cheap; hard to use

CRKT Zilla Jr. Multi-Tool

CRKT Zilla Jr. Multi-Tool

Rating for this product: 2 October 16, 2010

Bought this for $16 when it came across steep and cheap. I got it because i was looking for a fishing tool instead of buying a leatherman. I don't feel like it's even worth what i paid. Just feels incredibly cheap and extremely hard to use. Much more difficult then it needs to be; plus the pieces will be easily lost for the screw driver part. I'd pay a bit more and get your money's worth with something else.

The North Face Big Shot Backpack - 2100cu in

The North Face Big Shot Backpack - 2100cu in

Rating for this product: 4 February 10, 2010

Love this pack. Use it for working out, hauling my laptop to and from work, day pack, fishing pack, travel, city walking, pretty much everything. Just wish the front pockets were a bit larger, which it looks like the 2009 version fixed that.

No Blisters...Finally

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 10, 2010

I've gone through 2 pairs of these shoes as i wear them everywhere. My feed are size 14 long and skinny and i have always had trouble on my heel getting blisters. These solved the problem - 100 mile hike, no blisters! It was a dream come true. They are lighter then a hiking boot, so your foot has some room to breath. Used them in all kinds of different terrain and all worked well. My only down side is the draw string lock - if you get dirt or dust in them they don't stay tight anymore. I tend to have to overhand knot mine but it's no biggy.

Tad bit flimsy but good

Black Diamond Trail Back Trekking Pole

Took a bit of a spill on Mt. Theilson using these; bent 1 of them up pretty good as i threw all my weight on it. Didn't do to much damage; easy enough to bend back to where it should be. Without it i would have been hurtin'.

GoLite Den 2 Shelter 2-Person 3-Season

February 8, 2010

I own this tent and i'm 6'5 as well. Worked fine for me. The only problem is it's a bit hard to sit up. Especially in the morning when the dew is in our tent...can get a bit chilly.

Marmot Original DriClime Windshirt - Men's

Marmot Original DriClime Windshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 8, 2010

Have owned 2 of these. Very light weight, but great in wind. I use it as a layer over something with some insulation and it cuts wind near completely. Definitely worth it if you are looking to pack light but need a great wind breaker.

You could always just cut out a footprint using a piece of visqueen plastic. That's what i did for this.
