DMM Wallnuts

DMM Wallnuts

Wallnuts are about the best standard nut you can get (in my opinion). They fit well in all kinds of places and are easy to place. I dig em.

Marmot Matterhorn 42 Backpack - 2580cu in

Marmot Matterhorn 42 Backpack - 2580cu in

Rating for this product: 4 October 5, 2009

This pack is pretty good. It fits well, is comfortable, and carries a load well. It is not very durable. I guess i dont really understand the Ultralight Alpine catagory. I mean, light weight is nice, but the alpine can be pretty nasty. stuff needs to hold up. This pack is not durable. I broke a buckle and ripped a small hole in it after one weekend. It just depends if you want to baby your pack or not...

I replaced it with the Mountain Hardware Dihedral. It is way way way more stout.

These things are great. They have replaced the mid range of my wallnuts set (they are great too though). The taper is really nice, and they just fit. Great nuts.

Sweet torch

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 October 5, 2009

This little puppy rocks. It is BRIGHT. I used to have an expensive petzel light - this is lighter, way cheaper, and plenty bright. Not having any batteries on the back of your head is very nice. It is a fantastic light.

Rating for this product: 4 October 5, 2009

Its a fine shirt. True fit, i'm 5-9 165, got a medium. Mediums are usually pretty tight, this fits a touch looser. but def not big. Good tee.

These things are sweet

Wild Country Anodized Rockcentrics Set

Wild Country Anodized Rockcentrics Set

Rating for this product: 5 October 5, 2009

I really like these hexes. The are pretty easy to place, and just seem to fit in all sorts of places. The weight makes em great for alpine, or just to throw on your harness for a few extra pieces. The sling definetly helps keep drag down, i've never had them budge after placing them. Great pro.

Native Eyewear Bolt Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 October 5, 2009

really nice shades. good optics, lighweight, high quality. I dig them. I have a medium sized face, lots of glasses are too big on me. The throttles are a little small on me. These fit me very well.

Great Ski

Voile Insane Ski

Voile Insane Ski

Rating for this product: 5 October 5, 2009

A fantastic ski. They float like mad, are stiff enough to handle speed with ease, and the side cut makes em rediculously manuverable. I have yet to have them get pushed around due to their light weight. I got the 183, which is considerably bigger than my 170ish all mountain skis, and they have been no issue at all. they almost feel more manueverable, which i really think is due to the side cut. The ski hooks a little when turning on hardpack, but who cares... they are made for powder.

They rip in the pow pow, and are just a blast to ride. Love em.

Not good for me

Backcountry.com Liner Glove - Men's

Backcountry.com Liner Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 August 6, 2009

I use liners as a liner in the winter and a glove in the summer. this doesnt cut it for me. As just a liner, they'd be fine.

Cut is funky - fingers come to a nice point... Sizing is a bit big, I'm usually a medium glove but would want a small in these. They are really stretchy. Gloves are light - i know they are liners but they feel flimsier than a pair of merrell synthetic hiking boots - good for a weekend of decent use. If you use your gear, and want a liner glove you can use for double duty as a liner AND on its own, get a pair of wind stopper gloves. Alot burlier, a fraction of an ounce more. I just feel like i'd trash these in a one morning at RMNP.

PS: I LOVE the goat. They do some things exceptionally (softshells, i have 3) and some not so well (glove liners).
