running shoe for dry weather

Salomon XA Comp Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Salomon XA Comp Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 5, 2004

I think this will be a great shoe for relatively dry trails. For winter in the Pacific Northwest it may sit in my closet, but I would certainly wear it in a dry or desert terrain. On a wet trail the mesh allows quick entry of water and I got wet quickly. The traction was average on the rocks and roots of the wet trail I was on. These shoes run large, so order 1/2 size smaller than you normally wear. A really light weight shoe that will move fast when it is a nice sunny day.

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2004

This jacket is great! I have worn it in rain and it has kept me dry. Also it is cozy for biking at night or cross- country skiing. It seems to breathe quite well and I like the collar cos it keeps your chin warm if you get a breeze. It is lightweight enough to carry as a back up jacket too. I wouldn't wear it if I wasn't doing something aerobic, but then again I get cold fairly easily. Great colors too.
