  • Stomping Grounds:

    Central Colorado Rocky Mountains
  • Bio:

Ski bum at heart - I get out there on the slopes, track or backcountry whenever possible. Teaching my kids the benefits of life in the mountains - hunting, mountain biking, mountain climbing. I've summitted all of Colorado's 14ers, over half in the winter. Injuries, age, family resposibilities and work won't stop me!

Best Jacket out there!

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 7, 2010

I've owned this jacked for over seven years and it's still my most functional piece of clothing. I wear it on all fall-winter-spring aerobic outings where I need breathability. The pit zips are fantastic, and the pockets are in the right places. I'm a solid medium - and the arm and body length are perfect. The high neck zips snug enough that I rarely need a neck gaiter, except in stormy conditions. I've replaced only the pit zips and the fleece is starting to wear down at the corners. This is after 300+ days of use. This jacket stood up to -10F during the 2003 Elk Mountain Traverse - better than my fingers and toes did!

G3 El Hombre Ski

August 21, 2008

Trying to decide between the El Hombre in a 177 and the Baron in a 170. 155 lb, 5'10", expert tele skier. Been on the Atomic Kongur 177cm for the last 3 years - want a "turnier" ski for riding the lifts, all terrain & conditions. Lots of short fat skis in Vail's bowls really change the snow conditions, so I need to adapt. Any recommendations?
