though the lines have changed slightly for a waistband that seems to have been inspired by a roaring 20s bathing suit or a barber shop pole. though far more troublesome to this economic nationalist (lower case e-n), the "made in" tag says China. had I been clued in about the latter I would've moved on.

There's room enough for a caravan of gypsies in these undergarments. Slouchy comfy.

great if you're Kate Moss

Helly Hansen Seamless Boxer - Men's

Helly Hansen Seamless Boxer - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 May 23, 2008

Perhaps in Poland--where these are made--the men are waif-sized. The HH men's large is more than an inch smaller at the waist-band than the Patagonia men's large boxer; and more than two inches smaller than NorthFace's large boxer brief. Inasmuch I'll bet Kate Moss will look great in 'em.

I'm too sexy for the Deer Trail pant

Columbia Dear Trail Pant - Infant

Columbia Dear Trail Pant - Infant

(as related by six month old Nicholas) his gummy, slightly suggestive smile said it all. once Nicky donned his fleecy new pantaloons for the first time, sonny boy expressed an out-of-the-blue interest in pursuing a a career as a guanaco herder in Patagonia. or becoming the fourth BeeGee, should they ever reunite.

spectacularly mediocre

Swix Boxer - Men

Swix Boxer - Men

the Kate Moss of briefs: my new SWIX are shapely, but verging on distressingly anorexic. specifically, the wafer-thin fabric and overall quality are not the stuff of Backcountry.com. hell, they're not even the stuff of Target.

in terms of price, not in the lofty neighborhood of Ibex or SmartWool, but nearly as well made as the aforementioned.

nice looking on-line, though reality reveals cookie- cutter lines and a staid, uninspiring fit. way too dear a price for what is a modest step up from department store dreck.

Smartwool Ranger T

SmartWool Ringer T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

SmartWool Ringer T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 June 14, 2007

though the Ranger T affords a flattering fit--even for a 44-year old--the near-constant itch at the back is a serious irritant. strangely, none of my other Smartwool products itch.
