Stoic Bombshell Jacket - Women's

Stoic Bombshell Jacket - Women's

I love the look and shape of this coat - it follows your curves, rather than being a big bag of a shell. The brown with pink and white accents looks really nice, the material definitely blocks the wind (haven't worn in rain/wet yet), and I like the extra bells and whistles.

However, I was surprised at how slim it fit. I'm 5'6" and ~145 lbs, and lately wear about a size 8. I ordered a Medium, as the size guide for Large looked way too big. It does fit, and my boyfriend likes the way it looks on me - but I won't be able to layer up underneath as much as I'd expected. It should be okay with several thinner layers - a baselayer and merino or *thin* fleece - but I don't think I could comfortably wear it with a thicker fleece, or anything puffy at all. I also find that it fits quite slim to my hips at the bottom - though I haven't yet removed the powder skirt to see how that feels.

I'm glad I bought it - it's flattering and should perform well in the elements - but if you plan to use a number of layers or anything with thickness, you might consider sizing up...

Nixon Chalet Leather Watch - Women's

February 24, 2010

I like the brown, but in the photo it looks like the strap might be a different texture than the others. Is it suede, or smoother leather like the other colors?

Capo Roubaix Hat - Men's

has anyone actually worn one of these under a helmet? I'm wondering how that extra fabric + toggle would feel with a helmet on...

Pearl Izumi Gavia Glove - Women's

Pearl Izumi Gavia Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 9, 2008

these gloves seemed really nice - protective but thin, so they should be good for winter biking...but even with size Small, the fingers were just too long for my own, so I had to return them. I went with the Pearl Izumi Cyclone glove instead, which for whatever reason fit perfectly!

nice warm knee socks!

Icebreaker Skier Ultralite Sock - Women's

Icebreaker Skier Ultralite Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 4, 2008

I recently ordered several pairs of these to use for biking in cold weather, and they've been awesome so far! they're not padded, which means I can still wear them with my normal cycling shoes, but they're still warm. I've worn them pulled up to the bottom of cycling knickers, or pulled up over tights in colder weather, and they've been great every time.

great for cold weather layering!

Pearl Izumi Slice Ultrasensor Thermafleece Tight - Women'

Pearl Izumi Slice Ultrasensor Thermafleece Tight - Women'

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

I wore these tights on a several-hour ride a few days ago in windy 40F weather. Since they're not padded, I wore a regular pair of bike shorts underneath, and they still fit just fine. I had merino knee socks pulled up over my calves, and I was toasty warm the whole ride - I think I could've worn them without the wool socks in warmer weather, and could've also ridden colder than 40 in the layers I had on.

Pearl Izumi Vagabond II Bike Jacket - Women's

October 6, 2008

I would go with a large - I wear a 6-8 and ordered the Medium - it's just large enough that I can wear a long-sleeved jersey underneath, but it's pretty fitted. hope that helps!

flattering, but fit a bit small!

KUHL Forester Convertible Capri - Women's

KUHL Forester Convertible Capri - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 August 4, 2008

I just got my pair and tried them on - I normally wear a size 6 or 8 in pants, and these in Medium are *definitely* a size 6. I can wear them as-is, but if I lose 5 pounds they'll still look good and feel much better! If I were any larger at all, I'd definitely need a size up - so if you consistently wear a size 8 or larger, I'd suggest a L. I may skip the tumble dry low when I wash these, just in case.

Having said all this, the pants look good - the dark brown color is nice, the cut is fitted and flattering, and I think the contrast stitching make them look tough.

still cute, but different blue!

Lolë Sumatra Surplice Top - Women's

Lolë Sumatra Surplice Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 July 11, 2008

I agree with the first reviewer - some finagling with the straps and placement make this top comfortable and flattering! My only warning for those interested in the blue color is that the actual blue is quite a bit lighter than these pictures show! It's still a cute color, but instead of a deep blue it's actually more like Carolina blue, or a bright robin's egg color...
