We are in Yellowstone N.P. where we drop to -20F to -30F pretty regularly in the winter. This jacket is great at beating the cold.

Perfect for lightweight fit.

MontBell Ultralight Down Jacket - Men's

MontBell Ultralight Down Jacket - Men's

I was looking for a 3 season (Spring/Summer/Fall) down jacket for the mountains. There are days when you need just a bit more warmth without wanting/needing the big puffy coat. This lightweight down jacket is perfect. It's literally as light as a feather and is warm without being heavy or bulky. I bought the guys version so I'd have the ability to wear this over layers if needed.

Just about perfect

My husband was looking for a lightweight warm jacket for those spring bike rides. This jacket has fit the need exactly. It's a good wind barrier with excellent warmth. He felt the cuffs needed elastic, but that was his only complaint. The fit was great.

Too Fitted

Backcountry.com Luft 800 Down Sweater - Women's

Backcountry.com Luft 800 Down Sweater - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 March 23, 2009

I loved the look, the price, the color, and the feel of the fabric. I'm not overweight and I have long arms. This jacket was made for long arms and that's about it. I'm 5 foot 9 inches and I weigh about 132. Despite the flare at the hips you need to be a stick without hips to wear the jacket. I ordered a medium which did fit. The jacket is seriously fitted to your shape. The arm holes on the body are very close to your arm pit and feel constricting. It just fit and would never have allowed for anything more than a thin shirt let alone wearing a sweater. The sleeves were great, but I would never have been comfortable in this jacket. I didn't reorder a large. I just didn't love the style enough to want to.

February 27, 2009

Does this kayak handle well when used by only one person or is it better to have two always?
