Don't leave home without the JJs: Line 100 vs S7 vs JJs

Bought Line 100s (179s) in 2008, S7 (175) in 09 and JJs (174) in 2010. Seventy years old, 185 lbs. At 70 yrs old, speed is not priority, agility is. The Lines and the S7 are faster than the JJs. Both are noticeably heavier than the JJs. The JJs are fitted with Salomon 12 N Ti bindings, very light, and the Lines and the S7s are fitted with Markers. For me the JJs significantly improve ability in powder, bumps, everything.

What a ski. 5 stars for JJs.

Is size true? Why is this helmet so much more expensive than other Bern helmets? Do you believe that this is best protection of any helmet?

Line Prophet 100 Ski

I skied the 179 Prophet 100 last year at Mt Crested Butte for over 60 days(single, double blacks), 6 ft 185 lb, 68 yrs. I tried the 172, not enough length, got more control at 179. This ski will dive if you are not careful, one serious face plant. Griffon bindings worked. Not best mogul ski. Will probably move to K2 or Rossi tip rocker for 09-10. give the 100 a 3-1/2 star rating.

Would buy'em again

Salomon Gun Ski

I have skied 174 guns for two seasons...I'm 68, 6', 185 pounds. Not a problem for my skiing, but they can chatter at higher speed. On bumps and steeps they work fine. Will not set an edge in the crud like Gotama's. But, they are light and maneuverable, and are very good in powder. The twin tips have good release from a turn, unlike Nordica Mach 3s which hang on forever. Good ski to start with as an intermediate an move up to advanced or expert. No structural problems through about 100 days of skiing at Crested Butte on single and double blacks. Want to compare next with K2 Coomba.
