Pros: lightweight, high quality down and fabric material, width and size is roomy and comfortable for a mummy bag.

Cons: Temperature rating of 20F is very optimistic. Using a hammock or tarp as a shelter, and wearing thermal pants and wool baselayer with hat, I felt slightly cold at temp of 35F with 10-20 mph winds. Perhaps without wind and inside a tent would be good up to 25F. I think I would feel very uncomfortable below that. In addition, if you inflate the pad all the way, you will have a real difficult time zipping the bag up past the shoulder level.

You can probably get a lighter and warmer bag but it wont be as roomy as the BA. So for now BA bags are a good compromise.

This windscreen doesnt really work. I tested this windscreen under controlled conditions and it simply does not prevent any breeze greater than 10mph from greatly effecting the boil times of water using the gigapower stove and a titanium sp 750ml pot. A simple piece of foil going from the ground up to about half way the height of the pot is whats needed. If you dont believe me, try this yourself, using a small fan. There are plenty of other reviews out on the net substantiating the lack of effectivenesss of this windscreen. One reviewer, suggested that this windscreen was the company's compromise/ solution to the notorious problem of wind with cannister stoves and the legal difficulty of suggesting or developing full coverage windscreens with upright cannister stoves. In addition to the above, if you have the piezo starter, you may have difficulty using the ignitor because the spark tends to gap to the windscreen instead of the stove jet.

Very easy to use. Low weight, low bulk. There is some residual left over at the end of the canister's life which is wasted fuel. However, it does last longer than the reported 45 minute burn time especially if you turn the burner control to less than maximal. Performance is reduced below 32deg F due to the butane boiling point of 31 degrees. However, if you use a carefully designed homemade wind shield you can keep the cannister above that critical temp without causing it to explode. The chances of it exploding in cold weather is very low, especially since it was designed with a failsafe feature where the bottom concavity of the cannister expands out to prevent explosion. If you use a windscreen make sure not to fully enclose the cannister.

This is probably one of the better designed pocket survival kits...however, cost containment appears to be the predominant design of this kit. Most of the components except the heat shield blanket are of low to mediocre quality. The dry bag that hold the contents is decent and better than most "Space" blankets, but if you remove and unfold the blanket you will not be able to get it back into the kit. Getting items OUT of this bag would also pose a grave problem especially if fine motor skills are compromised such as in cold weather. You can definitely make a better and cheaper kit yourself but if purhcasing convenience is your goal then buy a couple of these kits and keep them in your backpack, coat pocket, car, boat, etc. Do yourself a favor and try to jam a miniature lighter into the kit, as waterproof matches are the only fire-starting device in the kit (ideally you should have 3 ways to start a fire).

I bought this jacket because of its great reviews. I have to say that I have not been disappointed. However, the price tag is a little over the top. I paid full retail for the green color because it is unique and does look much better than any other jacket I have ever seen. I do get a lot of compliments on the color.
Likes: form fitting, flexible and soft material, good water resistance (not waterproof), decent breathability (could be better), good tail coverage, nice hood with ability to tailor fit with the drawstring cord.
Dislikes: price tag, could breath better if you had some zip vents under the armpits, the left arm pocket is virtually useless due to its small size and the zipper is difficult to open unless your are holding down the arm cuff, the napolean chest pockets do not accommodate bulky items items due to the trim fit of the jacket against the chest.
Overall: was mostly an impulse buy, but don't regret it, as it will be my best outdoor jacket and get lots of use.
