Great Shoes

Scarpa Thunder Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 November 25, 2008

Ive been using this shoe in the gym and outdoors for the past 6 months and they are a great shoes and are really good for bouldering. They are extremely comfortable, they have a great toe box, and the rubber lasts pretty long and holds nicely.

Test of Time

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 18, 2008

I have an older model of this jacket that has Gore-Tex XCR. I put through the paces over the past year, including 40 days of snowboarding, hiking, biking, camping, just chilling, and much more. It has seen temps way below zero and winds up past 60mph and just keeps on rockin'. This is the best jacket ever! The tough fabric has taken a ton of abuse, yet barely shows any sign of wear at all. The hood is freaking awesome. It covers any helmet, is easily adjustable, and keeps your head very warm on those cold winter days hiking gusty ridges in the Colorado Rockies. The water-tight zips are holding up really well, still almost new looking. I love the way Arc'teryx jackets fit and their construction and attention to detail is unrivaled by other US brand. I plan on having this jacket for at least a decade or more!

Sick Ride

Nitro The T2 Freestyle Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 November 18, 2008

I was able to purchase this board (157cm) off of whiskeymilitia for a sweet price about 2 months ago, and now that its snowboard season here in colorado, ive used it on the slopes. so far im very impressed. very stable at high speed while bombing down some icy snow. true twin is nice to have as well. cant wait to see how it handles everything else i throw at it. park, moguls, steeps, powder. the graphics are pretty sweet and the neon yellow side walls are sick!

Arc'teryx Alpha SV Jacket - Men's

November 17, 2008

This is high-end. It doesn't get much better. This isn't exactly the "snowboarder" style, but it will function very well. Be careful though, this is a shell, not much for insulation. You will need under layers. Also, no powder skirt.

I have an older model of this jacket that i used for all of my days snowboarding last season. Like mike said, its not "snowboarder" steezy style at all, but its great for keeping weather out no matter what. To layer, i wear a soft shell underneath and then some other things, so thats what i would recommend to you. it does have a waist adjustment that you could toy with into a make-shift powder skirt if need be, but ive never had the problem of powder going up this jacket.

Amazing Jacket!

Arc'teryx Sigma SV Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 19, 2008

I purchased one of these older models over the summer and now that ive been able to use it in the cooler temperatures of fall, i can say i love this jacket. The Windstopper is great for cold morning bikes rides to campus at 7:45am and the hook is awesome too. And of course, Arc'teryx construction is second to none.

Arc'teryx Sigma SV Jacket - Men's

May 28, 2008

Well it depends on what your looking for when it comes to weight and protection levels. The Epsilon SV is on a bonded poly fabric and is only 16 oz. so its a lighter weight jacket. And no Gore-Tex or Windstopper. But it is highly breathable and will shed light rain and is wind resistant, but not proof. The Gamma MX hoody is a Polartec Powershield softshell which is good for many different types of weather conditions, hints the MX (mixed) rating it gets, but it too is lighter than Sigma SV at 20 oz. Now the Sigma SV is 24 oz. and has Windstopper, which is very breathable. I think it has the most durable fabric and has the great, large Drop Hood. So really its all your preference. But i would say go with the Sigma over the Gamma. As for the two letter endings, they go as follows: SV= severe (weather), AR= All Around, LT= Light, SL= Superlight, MX= Mixed, SK= Skiing, Comp= mixture of hard (gore-tex) and soft shell and i think thats most of them.

Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket - Men's

March 18, 2008

When Arc'teryx is combined with Gore-Tex PacLite, you are going to get a better product. Gore-Tex is a guaranteed to keep you dry, so if anything goes wrong, it will be fixed. In a downpour, the exterior nylon might get wet through the DWR finish, but since Gore-Tex is a laminate, it will keep the water out. Marmot Precip Plus isn't bad, but i would suggest you spend a bit extra and get the Gore-Tex. Also, Arc'teryx makes awesome jackets. I have the Alpha SV and its absolutely awesome. Arc'teryx all the way.

Great for Running or Chillin'

The North Face Prolix Delta Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 9, 2007

I live in Colorado and I am a serious runner and athlete and I absolutely love this jacket. I'll run with only the Prolix Delta and a long sleeve shirt in winter. Breathes very well and is suprisingly warm. All around it a great thin, active wear jacket.
