K2 Anti Piste Telemark Ski

K2 Anti Piste Telemark Ski

Rating for this product: 4 March 12, 2007

I demoed a 174 anti piste on a day with variable conditions. I found it to be a very nice ski. Quite heavy and stiff, but forgiving enough not to throw you off around. It really liked to ski fast and follow the fall line. Just point and go because this ski and burly enough to bust through anything and stay stable. Even on crusty ice this ski held an edge pretty well. It's shortfall would be short turns and bumps. I just found it a little hard to go edge to edge quickly. Probably due to the width under foot. Overall a very good ski. If like to ski big fast powder lines give this one a shot. At under $400 (sale price) you really can't go wrong here. Also, try the Black Diamond Verdict.

Snappy and Stiff

Black Diamond Verdict Telemark Ski

Black Diamond Verdict Telemark Ski

Rating for this product: 4 March 12, 2007

A lot has been said about this ski. I Tele skied a 180 with about 15" of Powder. The more I skied it the more I liked it. Exceptional flotation in Powder. If it had just a little more sidecut it would turn a little quicker in my opinion. With the proper binding set up it can be extremely lightweight for a wide ski. Although I'm not sure I would personally tour this ski. It seemed more of a big mountain ski. Very stiff and quite snappy. Almost too snappy for such a large ski. Really need to ski these things hard. If you're looking for a Powder ski give it a whirl. Also, Check out the K2 Anti Piste for the same application.
