These are absolutely incredible boots. I've seen several pro guides wear these, and with good reason, they are comfortable yet probably as warm as a single boots can be. they are stiff, climb and grip well and for a stiff mountaineering boot, they walk really well too. All in all, I can't say enough good things about this boot. The fit seems to be a little wider in the toe box than most Sportivas but it seems like this boot in particular fits such a wide range of feet. Although Sportiva definitely has the reputation of being a little on the narrow side i'd say these boot are right in the middle with a pretty narrow heel but I'm of fan of the fact that these boots fit like a glove!

I ended up going with the gamma mx instead of this jacket just because of the fit. I normally wear a large in most jackets cause I am 6'4" and lanky. This jacket fits like a glove and i loved it except for one thing...It is cut very short. I probably could have just gone with an XL but I decided to get the gamma mx which is a very comparable jacket and almost $100 more expensive unfortnately. The gamma mx lacks pit zips while the torch has them which gives the torch a huge advantage. However the gamma's hood design is infinitely better and it's cut longer which made me go with that. My friend just got the torch, sized up one size from his normal size, and loves it. So all in all this is a wonderful jacket and damn near waterproof just be careful of the sizing but if it doesn't fit you these guys will help you out! One of the two best hooded softshells out there

i went with this jacket over the torch simply because it was cut a little longer and fit me much better. I am 6'4" and lanky and 185 lbs and the L fits me wonderfully. This jacket lacks pit zips compared to the MHW torch and this powershield material seems a little thicker but other than that I love it. The hood design, and is the case on all other arc teryx jackets, is far and wide the best. Expensive but if you want an awesome versatile softshell this is it

Well to be honest, I was afraid to wear this jacket after spending so much money on it and realizing how light it is. That being said, this jacket is pretty damn durable despite it's ridiculously low weight. It is as waterproof as can be and while i haven't used it that much yet (I will definitly update my review if anything goes wrong with it) the new gore-tex pro shell seems amazing. I was trying to chose between this jacket and the Alpha SL (which is half the cost) and made with the Pac-lite rather than the pro-shell, which after a bunch of research, I found is not as durable over the long term but it depends on your use. I decided to go with this jacket because I want something that was light and that I can beat up and I plan on using it for mountaineering as well as a light, packable rain jacket. The SL is a great jacket, my roomate has one, but consider your uses before you buy. The only thing you need to be careful about both the alpha's is they are cut short in the front. I am a tall skinny guy and the a L is a little too short for me in the front but I'm keeping it anyway because it will still do the job. Oh yeah, best hood design ever on this jacket. Fits your head snugly yet can fit a helmet, amazing.
