Great backpack/day bag/school bag

Mountain Hardwear Enterprise Backpack - 1900cu in

Mountain Hardwear Enterprise Backpack - 1900cu in

Rating for this product: 5 July 10, 2009

I am definitely a gear snob and the MH Enterprise is definitely my favorite backpack on the market. I've had it for 3 years now and renewed my passion for it when I decided to go back to school this year. I had forgotten how well this bag distributes the weight of heavy books, laptop, etc.
Comfy straps, fits well to my back, big side pockets (can keep a 1L nalgene in each), great accessory pockets, even a fleece lined pocket for my sunglasses.
Love this bag!

Solid tent with extra space

Sierra Designs Anu 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season

Sierra Designs Anu 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 4 February 26, 2009

I've always liked the simplicity and price point of Sierra Designs tent. The Anu 3 is no exception. I bought this for my husband and I to use car camping (wanted a bit more stretching room than our amazing 2-man backpacking Hubba Hubba). Waterproof, sturdy in a wind storm, easy to set up/take down. Vestibule is large enough to cook meals in during a downpour.

My only criticism - the Anu doesn't have 2 doors, but its not as much an issue with the extra space.

Hubba Hubba - this tent is sexy

MSR Hubba Hubba Tent 2-Person 3-Season

MSR Hubba Hubba Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2009

Hands down my favorite backpacking tent for two. The all mesh upper keeps the stars in view and keeps the critters out. Its bomber in a bad storm and even survives some light winter camping.
Pitch the footprint and rain fly at outdoor concerts to keep yourself out of the rain or too much sunshine.
Bottom line - this tent rules the backcountry.

Good lamp, watch out long hair hippies

Petzl Zipka Plus Headlamp

Petzl Zipka Plus Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 February 26, 2009

I dig the Zipka Plus. Good light, great bright/dim settings. I love the light weight/compact design of this lamp.
My only complaint - long hair hippies like me watch out for hair getting wrapped around the zip cord. Works best over a beanie.

Good cook set, a bit heavy

GSI Outdoor Bugaboo Cookset

GSI Outdoor Bugaboo Cookset

Rating for this product: 3 February 26, 2009

Great cook set for car camping. I also take the small pot backpacking when cooking for two, but find the large one too cumbersome. If you're counting ounces, look elsewhere. If you are car camping or don't mind the extra weight, its a great non-stick set.

My favorite bag. Period.

MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #5 Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #5 Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2009

I bought this bag for a lightweight Central American backpacking trip. After lots of online research, this bag stood head and shoulders above the competition. I'll never go back to a non-stretch bag.
Extremely compact, light weight, and comfy. I move a fair amount when I sleep - the stretch in this bag makes it the most comfortable sleeping bag I've ever used. My favorite bag. Period.

Best of the best, all weather stove.

Brunton Raptor Stove

Brunton Raptor Stove

Rating for this product: 4 March 24, 2008

Raptor has rocked the last 2 years of trips. Backpack, sea kayak, backcountry ski, raft, car camping... it just can't be stopped. Small and lightweight, powerful, and consistent. I love the auto-ignite, great to get things moving quickly - no priming, etc.
My only complaint is the waste produced by using non-refillable fuel cans. I hope we can find a way to eliminate this excess and refill the canisters :)

Patagonia Strider T-Shirt Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 27, 2008

I own two Strider tees, love them! Great, breathable, non-stinky shirt. It does run big... seems like men's sizing. I usually wear a women's L or XL and I bought the Strider in a M.

Love the snuggle

Mountain Hardwear Lodown Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Lodown Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 19, 2007

A comfortable, warm, stylish vest to enjoy in the front and backcountry. Great fit, long enough for a 5'9" woman, so there are no gaps for the chill to sneak in. Love the snuggle factor of the downtown vest.

Snuggle-icious

Mountain Hardwear Lodown Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Lodown Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 8, 2007

The MH Lodown is so toasty warm, it is my favorite companion for winter camping, late season desert excursions, and general 'its freezing out here' conditions.
Not so full that you feel like a stay-puff marshmallow, quite stylish in detailing and flattering diagonal stitching.
Love the Lodown - it's snuggle-icious.

Mountain Hardwear Cosmopolitan Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 April 12, 2007

Purchased these pants last week, loved the cut and feel the fabric. My work requires professionalism in the office and I go straight into the mountains for educational or recreational trips. Mountain Hardwear's Cosmopolitan Pant is perfect to go from civilization to the wild! Love the chocolate color, will probably be getting them in Shark soon too!
