Great!!!

Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel

Rating for this product: 5 June 24, 2011

Used to clean the shoes. Works great, but get
the big clunky stuff off first.Have a scrub
brush handy to get to the small areas. There's
some difficulty using the brush on the bottle,
and alot of times you need to squeeze the bottle
to get the fluid out. Nikwax should use a tube design
instead, but the issue is minor.Check the photos.

Nice and Comfy

The North Face Vindicator II GTX Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 24, 2011

Bought these for my every day hiking shoe. Comfortable,
had a hotspot on one shoe, above the toes. But once the
leather was kneaded a little, and broken in they were
comfortable. I like the cushioning, love the shoe except for
all the cut outs or TNF logo. It just adds so much more
edging that can catch on something when hiking, trail running,
or bushwhacking.I've aleady caught edges several times hiking
to a crag. Waiting for the Logo to catch on something and rip.
Haven't been caught in a downpour yet.

Sizing?

The North Face Cliff Rock Crag Pant - Men's

The North Face Cliff Rock Crag Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 June 20, 2011

I own TNF shorts.I'm 5'10 with a 32' waist, so I thought waist size would be the
same, but the 32 was sooo big, even with a belt I would have folds at the waist
line on both sides. No problem, I returned the item for the smaller size 30" waist.
Which fitted well in the waist, but extremely tight in the groin area. Very
uncomfortable, so I returned the pants again. The problem is, other TNF pant styles do fit better, to where I double checked the labels on the inside of
the pants both times to make they were not tagged wrong.

Comfy Red Clogs

El Naturalista Yggdrasil N109 Clog - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 20, 2011

Bought these for my wife, she says "They are super comfy and lightweight and I like the color. The heel was a little big, so I put in one of those stick-on heel pads and that did the trick."

Best dog bed

Ruffwear Mt. Bachelor Pad Dog Bed

Rating for this product: 5 June 16, 2011

This is a great dog bed.I have a medium size dog, and I got the large.Sadie(the dog Luv's it).We take camping, climbing, etc. When I first got it,it was a bit floppy to roll up, but I got the hang of it.Packs nicely and fits well on a backpack when rolled up.
I was worried about the vinyle backing, because the first day I put a deep scratch in it.But it hasn't torn, and now I don't worry about throwing it anywhere on the rocks.
We use on the car seat for traveling, at the crag for the dog, and in the evening it goes into the tent. But I was totally impressed when we used it at an outdoor evening concert. The temp was getting quite chilly, but pad was nicely warm. Wish Ruffwear would make a peoples version!

Just OK

Lowa Tempest Lo Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 16, 2011

My first pair were great. They were comfortable and I used them for everyday wear,
hiking, and going to local climbing areas. Then,I think the quality of the manufacturing
got cheap. The next pair the heal cup shifted after 3 weeks. If you're not careful putting your shoes on, the material near the top of the heal cup wears out fast. TheRand catches on Rocks and rips away from the leather(yea, yea I shouldn't drag
my toes when stepping over rocks). But the last pair I didn't drag my toes as much,
but the Rand seperated slowly from the leather. I wouldn't of bought the next pair, but I was desperate for a new pair of shoes, tired of shopping, and I knew these would fit.

Mountain Hardwear Microchill Zip-Top - Women's

December 28, 2010

How do you measure sleeve length? I bought this for my wife who's an xs
and the sleeves were soooo long, they hung past her knees. Like she would
need an Ape index of +7.I measured 23 inches from her shoulder edge to wrist,
but the size chart list sleeves as 30 inches.
I had to return it.

Smokin Buds Stay

Skullcandy Smokin' Bud Headphones

Skullcandy Smokin' Bud Headphones

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2009

I got these buds for the fit. My Apple buds always
fell out when working out, sometimes even when walking, or sudden movements. So I had my doubts before ordering these. They come in three adaptive sizes for fitting to one's ear, and they no longer fall out. The sound is fine, but I'm not a sound connoisseur. Like the volume control on the cord; very functional. Luv these buds!

ps. The color goes well with my ipod.

How many monkeys for one jacket?

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Woman Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Monkey Woman Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2009

I bought this jacket for my wife after I tried the men's. I luv the Monkey Fur. She luv's hers. It's much warmer than a fleece, and it does protect one from the wind much better than expected. I use it for climbing, skiing, and casual wear around town. In stronger winds I throw a Windstopper/Rain jacket over it and I'm golden. I don't understand what people are complaining about, but you do have to pay attention to the care label. The only problem I had was trying to hand pick the dry grass and seeds out of it after laying on the ground.

Size counts

CamelBak Havoc Hydration Pack - 3L

CamelBak Havoc Hydration Pack - 3L

Rating for this product: 3 May 22, 2008

I really like the size of the pack, initially buying it for mountain biking and doing long climbing routes. It can hold my hiking shoes, a jacket, water and miscellaneous other items. The compression panel does not work well for a biking helmet, but what really sucks is the water reservoir. When filled, even half full(1.5l), it causes the pack not to lay flat against my back. I resolved the problem
by adding a stiffener and using a competitors' flatter reservoir. But most of the time I just throw a
water bottle in the main compartment.

Backcountry.com Rime Pullover Jacket - Men's

Backcountry.com Rime Pullover Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 22, 2008

I wore this on March 1, over a T-shirt while climbing a tower in windy conditions. It worked extremely well, stretched and took abrasion well. The sleeves feel a bit awkward when I first put it on, like they're too narrow. I definitely should have tried a larger size. Otherwise I love the jacket.

CAMP USA Nylon Tricam

CAMP USA Nylon Tricam

Rating for this product: 5 May 22, 2008

Tri-cams should be a standard on anyones' rack. They work well in shallow horizontal cracks. Don't place too deep for your partner to retrieve, and make sure they know how to take them out. I've lost two red, in two separate incidences where my partners whaled on the pieces trying to get them out, when in actuality they were set. I don't use anything bigger than a 2.0.

Lowa Tempest

Lowa Tempest Lo Hiking Shoe - Men's

Lowa Tempest Lo Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 August 3, 2007

I own the previous version of the Lowa Tempest and thought they were the most comfortable all around hiking shoe. Lowa improved the shoe by modifying the
top eyelets with hooks. The sole is a bit slick on dusty polished rocky trails, but thats normal. The shoe is still
comfortable and light, but after having it for three months with minimum wear, there's a problem with the
internal plastic heel cup causing pain and I have to send the shoes back to Lowa. I'm glad I haven't thrown my old ones out.

Sweet & Flexy

Black Diamond Carbon Fiber Ski Poles

Black Diamond Carbon Fiber Ski Poles

Rating for this product: 5 August 3, 2007

I love these poles! I broke my Black Diamond Aluminun FlickLock pole doing a knarly turn in a steep mogul field early in the day and was able to hammer the aluminum pole back into the upper section to ski the rest of the day. It took a complete day to get use to the flex of the carbon poles,I had some problems with the flex when trying to release my boots, but I've adapted. The Flicklocks are solid, the poles are light and handle well at the resorts or in the backcountry. They're so sweet!!!
