ALPS Mountaineering Fusion Lite 20F Sleeping Bag & Air Pad Combo

August 26, 2009

This bag is not water proof. Would probably hold up by itself sleeping directly on the ground, however they are not designed to hold up in wet conditions

Bang for the buck

Bern Baker Helmet w/Knit Liner

Bern Baker Helmet w/Knit Liner

Rating for this product: 5 June 6, 2009

For the money, you can't beat this helmet. I am impressed with the helmet and Bern. I believe any goggle that is "helmet compatible" will fit great. Both my girl and I have logged 2 seasons in these with no complaints at all. We never wear the neck liners. Both have normal to slighlty large heads and the Large fits great. Any kind of slack can be filled with a beanie.

Highly recommended.

Wait for it on Steap and Cheap! $20 a helmet!

Oakley Crowbar Goggle

Oakley Crowbar Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 June 1, 2009

Fits great with a helmet - no forehead gap and equal pressure across your face. Very durable frame and lens, I have taken many tree branches to the face without harming the goggles much at all. They never fog, and have had 0 problems with workmanship/functionality. Top notch eye wear.

Buttery flex, noodly jib that gnar

Rome Libertine Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rome Libertine Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 1, 2009

I agree with Stephen Koch. I wear a 10.5 and ordered the 10.5. With snowboard socks on (medium thickness) it fit perfectly-any smaller would have been bad. Standard foot width.

As for the boot - very comfortable and extremely lightweight. The liner is moldable, and is the "2F" model, for reference. Has amazing heel hold without creating pressure points or pinching. Lacing system is excellent, the amount of control you have over your heel lift alone is a breath of fresh air compared to my zone-style Burton Motos. The laces themselves seem very durable and do not loosen throughout the day. They fit a park setup beautifully, and are responsive enough to take anywhere on the mountain. Highly recommended!

Level UP

Rome Artifact 1985 Snowboard

Rome Artifact 1985 Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 June 1, 2009

I agree with everything "The Guy" said. Instantly improves every aspect of your park game. Everyone knows this. What impressed me the most was the amount of control it had over the entire mountain - especially in deep in the trees. Granted it will not slice through corduroy, but do not sell this stick short. The reverse camber easily keeps the nose up and floats with the best of em. At high speed, feels much more like wake boarding than riding, a lot more long slides than deep carves. Yet it is very responsive and an absolute blast to ride. Tack on that it is impossible to catch an edge and it makes for one of the most fun and versatile decks year round. Buy it. Donate sperm.

Rome Artifact 1985 Snowboard

It kills them. Very forgiving on landings especially when needing to butter the last half of a spin as you connect to the snow. Dominates anything park.

Rome Artifact 1985 Snowboard

June 1, 2009

I must disagree. After riding my Artifact 1985 for an entire season, I must say it can easily take on all-mountain. Granted it does not bite into the snow, but the deck can pull high speed turns and is easily controllable. And as for powder or back country, the reverse camber is a dream. Keeps the nose up and floats with no lean required. Truly a great board and I believe it gets pigeon-holed as many park decks do.

Decent

Burton Wheelie Gig Bag

Burton Wheelie Gig Bag

Rating for this product: 3 April 1, 2009

This is your basic snowboard bag. I bought the 166 and I could easily fit 3-5 snowboards in it (w/o bindings). Wheels are a thicker plastic and are designed for use in airports.
My only gripe is with the zippers. They are a cheap plastic and both snapped with just a couple uses. Easily fixed but wimpy construction nonetheless.

A Solid boot

Burton Moto Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Moto Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 7, 2008

I picked up last years model - and have put about 30 full days in them. To start, the single lace cable system works well. There is an upper zone that goes from the ankle up the shin, and a lower zone covering the top of the foot. You are able to get a nice custom fit, and I never need to re-adjust after I first put them on. Nothing has broken/fallen off/malfunctioned all year and look forward to this season in them. Only drawback I'd say is that it is a stiffer boot, if you are looking for a new shoe for a freestyle setup - choose another.

Light - Medium protection

Six Six One Chicken Wing Elbow Guard

Six Six One Chicken Wing Elbow Guard

Rating for this product: 4 October 24, 2008

I have had these for about 4 months now, using them 3-4 times a week. No issues with the construction (unlike the tomcat knee pads by six six one - AVOID THEM) or feel.
The few good spills I have taken (20-30mph on asphalt), the have held up. However, the elbow pads have to be centered on your elbow, and tight enough to stay put to provide protection. The foam gives much less wiggle room then a hard shell.
