Vasque Velocity VST Trail Running Shoe - Men's

I do not have any specific experience with these shoes, but I do know that if you loosely stuff newspaper in wet shoes/boots with the top hanging out, it will dramatically decrease the time it takes to them to dry.

Most of the time to calculate volume you multiply length X width X height. If you measure in inches, then the result will be cubic inches. So 24 X 14 X 12 = 4032 cubic inches

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Softshell Jacket - Men's
June 22, 2009
I have the Alchemy and my wife has the synchro, so I can't give you a perfect answer b/c I can't fit in her jacket. I get hot when wearing the Alchemy jogging in anything above 30F w/ a light baselayer. I really wish mine had pit zips. The synchro seems to have less bulk and probably a little cooler, although it may not breathe as well. It definately does not seem as durable as the Alchemy. I am 5'11" 200lbs and I wear a large. i can get 2 base layers, and a fleece under it no problem. Or a base layer and a pataonia down sweater vest under it. However, I only do this when I am not active!

Princeton Tec Quad Headlamp

I have a couple times, I am always a little disappointed. However, there is a wide range in quality for rechargables, my batteries are NiMH and a few years old, the batteries seem to be more of the problem than the light. For a quick trip or wearing around the house, they are just fine.

Gregory Z 55 Backpack - 3050-3660cu in
June 22, 2009
No specific pockets, I just put my quart bottle in the large shovel pocket on the back. It is sort of a catch all pocket for things I need often, like a water bottle. However, you cannot retrieve it w/o some help or taking off the pack. I use it to fill my water bladder.

Any one would work, it has a sleeve, and a place for the hose to come through. I do not use the sleeve though. Once the pack is stuffed full, it is hard to squeeze a bladder down into the sleeve. I just put it on top below the "brain" pocket.

Princeton Tec Quad Headlamp

Rechargeable batteries will definitely last longer in the long run, but won't last as long per charge as lithiums. You should expect about the same amount of time as traditional alkaline batteries. Because the Princeton Tec Quad headlamp is voltage regulated, rechargeables or lithiums won't hurt the LEDs or any of the internal components. You should get about 1000 charges for the quality rechargeables at about 20 hours on high of burn time per charge (compare that to 50+ hours on high for lithiums).I am adding to the above answer, I don't think they will be as bright as with the lithiums or alkalines because most rechargeables are 1.2volt instead of the typical 1.5volts. I have run rechargable NiMh batteries in other lights with satisfactory, not excellent, results.

In the Tech Specs, there is a part that says "Lining: Fleece" that leads me to believe that the lining is indeed fleece....I am editing the above answer it is fleece-like lining. Not really like your regular palartec lining.
