Dynafit Manaslu Ski

April 10, 2011

I am 6'4/ 190lbs. I ski 181 Baker SL now and looking to replace them with the 178 Manaslu's. What is your opinion on if I will notice the difference in 3 cm's? Second question. How much rocker does the Manaslu have compared to the new Waybacks?

Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad - Mummy

Rating for this product: 5 January 11, 2008

Incredibly small, light and comfortable. The only complaint I have is it squeeks a lot when rolling around. I am a heavy sleeper though. Too bad for the unlucky ones.

Nice

Mountain Hardwear Alpinist Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Alpinist Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 18, 2007

I bought these pants for the spring skiing season and Glacier travels. I wanted something light in color for those sunny days. The Pants are a light weight softshell (thin). The inside surface is soft enough to wear them by themselves i.e no long underwear. I even plan to use them on some summer hikes this year also. The cuff is a little tight to pull over my G-Rides. It is possible to pull them over the boot and zip up the side zipper but I just leave them unzipped. There is a piece of fabric that covers the area between so it is no big deal to leave them unzipped. You'll need a thin (1/2" wide) belt for these pants I made one from some extra webbing. I would recommend these pants to anyone. Very comfortable. I am 6'4" with a 34" inseam and 34" waist and large fits me fine.

Warm, Light and Water Resistant

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Phantom Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 26, 2007

After years of of sitting down for lunch on a BC tour shivering while watching all my buddies toasty warm in their down jackets I felt it was time. I looked at many styles and wanted three things. Warm, light and water resistant. This jacket met the criteria. The one complaint I have is I am 6'-4" tall and it is only 1-2" inches below my waist. I bought an XL. I have tried many others and this is typical.

Best Bang for the buck

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 26, 2007

I have never gotten wet wearing this jacket. I mainly use it for BC tours. It packs up light and tight. I am 6'4" and bought a XL so I could put it on over several layers. I could have bought a large and it would still have fit. It breaths alright but with any strenuous activity you will sweat. I only wear it if I have too.
