Eagle Creek Pack-It Protech Cubes

Eagle Creek Pack-It Protech Cubes

Rating for this product: 4 November 26, 2008

This is a great item for your electronics, crushables,(I put my poptarts inside to keep them from being crushed, or liquids inside ziplock bags etc.) or to use simply to take advantage of a certain amount of space. The medium size protech cube fits inside the outer pocket of the Eagle Creek ORV 30 Trunk and by filling the cube with items, you are taking advantage of every square inch of the pocket. The inside is padded and the little dividers are easy to attach and detach to fit around your items with the velcro fasteners. Now the thing you have to remember is the protech cube is crush resistant, not crush proof. I used mine to protect my goodies inside my carry on for airline travel. If I was forced to place my camera etc. inside the protech cube and was traveling in very rough conditions, I would first want to put it in a correctly sized Otter or Pelican box first.

It must have been invented by an ex moving van driver!

This is an incredible concept in packing. Think of it in terms of a moving van loaded with boxes. You pack and organize your clothes and gear inside the different sizes cubes and take advangage of every possible square inch of your suitcase, trunk bag etc. They also act like a compression system. The heavy duty zippers allow you to stuff a lot into a small amount of space. (I can easily fit 10 pairs of socks inside the medium cube), underwear etc. you can stuff into each cube. The cubes also come in different colors and sizes to allow you to customize your wardrobe with your size of your suitcase, backpack etc. For instance, I put my socks in the red medium cube and my underwear in the black medium cube. No more digging through your entire bag looking for your favorite pair of socks!

Arc'teryx Gamma SV Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Gamma SV Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 13, 2007

This has quickly become my favorite "go to" jacket. It is the one I always want to have with me. The Polartec Power Shield has good breathability and easily sheds light to moderate rain. I love the fleece lining on the inside of the jacket as well. It's like they took a 100wt fleece and bonded it to the powershield. The hand pockets are nice and large and fleece lined. Nice touch! The only area of improvement I could recommend would be the addition of a hood and a bicep pocket like the Gamma MX. I used to scoff at the high price of Arcteryx products, but you really do get what you pay for.

Patagonia Houdini Full-Zip Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Houdini Full-Zip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 5, 2007

Great product!Very breathable and it only weights 4oz! No excuse to not have a light rain jacket with you. Did not wet out in about an hour light to med rain. Cons: Wish it had hand pocket, was seam sealed and came in xxl to allow more layering underneath(I am a big guy) but then it would not weight 4oz, right? Easily fits in a back pocket folded.
