Swix Touring Pant - Women's

Swix Touring Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 February 2, 2009

First, I loved these pants - the right combination of supple/stretchy material not too thick for aerobic excercise (I skate ski, run, and snowshoe run) in a great fit! Wow! Then I turned around to look at the back in my mirror, and ARGGGHHH! Whoa, what's with those big black rectangle panels on my butt? It's downight unsightly! I'm normally not very fashion-conscious, and often only have the company of my dogs, but somehow I couldn't get past wearing these square bull's eyes on my rump. I WANTED to put up with the eyesore, because I've looked so long and hard for such a nice weight and fabric pant (and great fit!) but I eventually had to send them back. The final straw was the fact that those ugly black panels aren't water resistant, and when I snowshoe the snow kicks up on the back of my legs - so I really need some protection there, and certainly not ugly black patches. Still Searching.....

Nice Tight, Strange Fit

Mountain Hardwear Transition Tights - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Transition Tights - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 February 2, 2009

I've been looking for a lightweight but wind/water resistant pant to skate ski and run in - this pant's material might do the trick, but it's sewn into the strangest fit I've ever put on - too big in some places (waist and in back at the upper seat, wierd) and yet too tight in others (thighs and length) (I'm anatomically normal, just a plain old medium gal). Not comfortable at all, and to make matters worse, the material doesn't stretch or give at all, so movement is difficult. I remember now that I'd tried these very tights a few years ago and thought the material held promise if they'd just adjust the fit; they haven't yet, so they're not for me. I hope the people at Mtn Hardware read this review - maybe I'll try again in a couple years....
