The North Face Animagi Insulated Jacket - Women's

December 13, 2009

Jodie, this coat most likely won't be warm enough for you because its super thin and light weight. It especially won't keep you warm on those super cold and windy Iowa days. Maybe look more towards the Arc'teryx Easyrider Insulated Softshell Jacket for women. Best of luck!

G3 Onyx AT Binding

November 19, 2009

Jules, NOT all AT bindings have the ability to go directly fro tour to skiing. For example with the Marker Dukes, you have to step out of the binding in order to get at the lever that switches the binding from tour-->ski. This is a really nice aspect that G3 integrated into their binding system.

Arc'teryx Atom LT Hooded Insulated Jacket - Women's

November 19, 2009

Hey juy100402401, my friend "Rachel" owns the Lt Hoody by arcteryx and LOVES IT. I have stolen it a few times to run out to my car in some gnarly conditions and it is very nice. I have seen this jacket used in action at temperature around 10˚ F and if layered properly, you are bomber. Both of the jackets are "water resistant" according to Arcteryx, and this has never been a problem for friends, but in truly extreme squalls, throw your favorite shell over this and you are good to go! Another great thing about this jacket is the mobility factor, its easy to forget that you are even wearing a jacket when this thing is on. Its not restricting in the least. Good Luck!

Dynafit TLT Vertical ST Alpine Touring Binding

April 2, 2009

Hey G, as far as AT bindings, I'd recommend the Marker Duke. They are BURLY! And they don't have a lot of lateral (left to right) floating. Plus they are bomber on groomed runs. You can't go wrong with them. Another great one is the Fritschi Freeride. But it does have a little side to side movement. Hope this helps!

Patagonia Rain Shadow Jacket - Men's

April 1, 2009

Chuck, the Patagonia Rain Shadow jacket will be a bomber jacket for you and your boys while fishing in Canada. It is seem sealed, coated with a great water repellent. This jacket will also accommodate layers underneath the jacket for any bone chilling storms you might encounter. While it's not the cheapest jacket out there, this jacket will last a LONG time if not abused (too much), plus it has a lifetime warranty; and I know from experience that Patagonia takes care of you, I've had them replace a jacket 5 times and they do it with no questions asked. Hope this helped.
Cheers
