I love being outdoors, whether mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming, boating, or just car camping. I love the outdoors. That being said, I love gear. I know that may be lame, but I love getting new gear and trying it out.

My favorite pants!

Mountain Khakis Original Mountain Pant - Men's

Mountain Khakis Original Mountain Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 21, 2011

These pants are great. I have several pairs and my oldest pair is pushing 6 years old. I will say that I have purchased multiple pairs of the same shade and there are almost always slight variations in the color of the pants. (This makes no difference to me, but may to some.) If you are looking for a solid pair of pants that have a gusseted crotch, roomy pockets, that wear nicely, and above all else are comfortable; then these are worth checking out.

Perfection!

Patagonia R2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

Patagonia R2 Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 3, 2011

This jacket is great! I usually wear a medium and ordered this in a medium. While it is an "Athletic" (or whatever) cut, it fits perfectly. It is not tight on me and is not baggy. It fits great and feels great. I have an older R2 from a few years back that was never as soft as this on is. Also for those who want to know, the Alpha Green is more green than it appears in the stock photos above. It is closer to a moss or Ranger green. Thats being said, I am very pleased with this jacket.

Bullet proof all terrain sandal

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 19, 2011

I have been wearing these sandals for at least 6 years and they are still my go to rugged sandals. The grip on slippery surfaces is adequate and the toe protection is like no other. The only down side I have found is when in moving water with loose stone at the bottom, it is not uncommon to get small stones in your foot bed. I still say these are excellent shoes. They are not the most attractive, but that is Keen's trademark.

Nice casual footwear

Patagonia Footwear Boaris Mid Waterproof Shoe - Men's

Patagonia Footwear Boaris Mid Waterproof Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 19, 2011

Like everything else, having the right footwear for the job makes all the difference. I have had these shoes for 2 months and I think they look great. There is not a lot of support with the OEM insoles, and they do not seem to breathe as nicely as I would hope. I still love these shoes, they look great with a pair of jeans, moutain khakis or whatever you choose, but I think there are better alternatives for hiking footwear. I do not dislike these shoes, but as I said, they are best suited for casual footwear needs. My opinion of course...

Great gear!

Patagonia Footwear Drifter A/C Hiking Shoe - Men's

Patagonia Footwear Drifter A/C Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 19, 2011

I've been wearing these for 5 weeks now with the OEM insoles and they are great. The break in period was minimal, the support is excellent, and they look great. I wear them daily for work and spend countless hours on my feet. My feet are never sore,or tired after work and the grip on them is amazing. I can see how they could possibly hold a bit of mud, but the lugs in the sole seem like they would clean out nicely on their own. I own several pairs of Merrells, Keens, and Vasque footwear and these are one of my favorites.

Nice rope bag

Metolius Ropemaster Rope Bag - 1224 cu in

Metolius Ropemaster Rope Bag - 1224 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2007

I love this rope bag, the tarp is huge and keeps your rope out of the dirt. The only thing I would change on it if I could is the length of the strap to give you more options for carrying this bag with a pack. All and all its the best bag I've used.

DAKINE Nomad Hydration Bike Pack - 1100cu in

Rating for this product: 4 December 12, 2007

This pack is great as long as you use it for what its designed. I bought this to use while mtn. biking and I've also used it at a couple different music festivals. It has done very well for me and I would recommend it to be used as I use mine.

Gregory Z 55 Backpack - 3350 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2007

This pack is awesome! I use it almost everytime I go climbing or backpacking. I've abused it and it still looks and works great. I like this pack much better than my first generation Z pack, Gregory really got it right with this one.

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2007

I've had a lot of headlamps, and this is by far the best choice for me. It has three settings that allow you to save battery life when possible, and it is comfortable on your head and also very light. This is a great piece of gear and I carry one with me in each of my vehicles everywhere I go. It is a good idea to keep track of how often you use it to assure your batteries don't die on you while you are in the dark.
