OK, i am doing one of the guided Rainier things and the two guide outfits recommend different soft shell pants from the same manufacturer. one costs significantly less than the other. considering how i have already dropped a pretty penny, i decided to go with these pants. and they worked out very well. would buy again...

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Down Parka - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Down Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 19, 2007

these are on the larger side of things - which is the point, i guess, since they are supposed to fit over all your other gear - pack excluded.
comes with little tuff sack which is nice. compresses nicely to fit in pack. all around solid buy.
