Sizing SMALL

Simple Tuba Suede Shoe - Men's

Simple Tuba Suede Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 20, 2011

Depending on brand I'm normally somewhere between a 10.5 and an 11. I saw these on Steep and Cheap for 25 and they only had the 10.5 so I went for it. Big mistake... I can't even come close to fitting my foot into it. Sizing is very small, built for an extremely narrow foot. I don't think my hobbit feet would even fit an 11.5. Will be returning.

So far so good...

The North Face Anchor Bib Pant - Men's

The North Face Anchor Bib Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 3, 2011

I'm 5'10" 185 lbs w/ a solid build and these in a Medium fit great. They're my first go w/ bibs since I was a little guy and I love them. So warm!

No complaints so far. I would have liked something a little lighter for touring but the price of these vs. a more techy pair of bibs can not be ignored.

We'll see how they do w/ waterproofing. I bought these fully realizing I'd probably have to do some waterproofing every year but once again I think it's a great product for the price.

Love it

Marmot Spire Jacket - Men's

Marmot Spire Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 3, 2011

I'm 185 lbs, 5"10, solidly built. I went w/ a large after trying on numerous different Marmont coats at the local REI (I normally wear a medium when it comes to winter gear).

I was a little disappointed at first with the sizing as I felt I was swimming in the jacket but after putting on a layer or two it fits wonderfully. The only complaint I have is in the sleeve length... I don't have monkey arms and the sleeves could use to lose an inch or two in my opinion.

This coat breathes fantastically and has the option of traditional pit zips (no lining) and after opening the breast pockets there are internal vents.

As for the helmet question: Absolutely helmet compatible. I think part of my initial review on sizing had to do with the size of the hood. I really had to dial in the hood before the coat wanted to fit properly. I wear a helmet but don't like the hood up and found that the hood fit well behind the helmet also.

This Coats a Ripper! (Literally)

The North Face Condor Triclimate Jacket - Men's

The North Face Condor Triclimate Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 January 29, 2008

This is my first experience with North Face, which I've always assumed based off of price and popularity was an outstanding brand. Thats not the case with this jacket. On it's first day out a slight fall on some ice scraped and tore a rip in back of this coat, and after a couple more trips to the hill there's another huge rip in the sleeve where it got hung up on some trees. I've been skiing for 20+ years and have never had such a bad experience with a coat. The zippers stick, the hoods not helmet compatible and when zipped up all the way it's a tight fit over your face. I'm not very impressed with it's water proofing either.

Sorry about all the negativity, but the best part to me? North Face doesn't warranty against burns, tears or rips.
