Great for backpacking

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 22, 2008

Overall this is a really nice pant. I'm 5'7" about 130# and got an 8 long. The long is a tad too long but the regular was definitely too short. Normally I wear a size 6 in most brands and have several North Face capris in a 6 but I had to go with the 8 for this pant. They are certainly more stylish than many overly baggy hiking pants out there. For just a hiking pant I would prefer something a tad more stylish, stretchy, and slim-fitting through the legs. But as a backpacking pant they are perfect. The little bit of extra room through the legs allows me to layer fleece long johns underneath. I wore them 5 days straight and have no complaints. Loved that they can be rolled up and secured with a button to make cropped pants. These 3-in-1 pants are all you really need to bring.

I love merino wool tops. You can wear them for days and they still look and smell great. This one has a very flattering fit and cute design. Fits true to size. Love the red and will buy one in another color if I can find it somewhere at a good sale price.

Arc'teryx Operative Tank - Women's

June 17, 2008

Hi. I own this tank in a size small. I am 5'7" and about 130 lbs with a small chest. The small is just a tad too small for me. Not unwearable, but I should have gone with a medium. It fits perfect in most aspects, but it is about an inch or two too short in length. So perhaps the small would be perfect for you since you're a bit shorter than me. If you're torso is on the longer side I'd go with the medium.

Okay Shirt

The North Face VaporWick Hanging Garden Tee - Women's

The North Face VaporWick Hanging Garden Tee - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 September 18, 2006

I thought the shirt was too thin -- basically see-through. The design on it was nice, but the cut was too cutesy for a Vaporwick tee. Plus the fit was a bit too big. I ended up returning mine....but if you want a very light shirt it might be alright.

Beautiful blue color. Great looking. But you gotta be careful around hook-and-loop closures or other materials that may cause the material to pill/ball. I didn't even think I wore it around a hook-and-loop closure but somehow I've got a few marks on the front already.
