Icebreaker Base Layer 260 Pursuit Legging - Men's

Icebreaker Base Layer 260 Pursuit Legging - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 23, 2011

Out of the box the fit of these are amazing. Comfortable, warm, what more can I ask! I can't wait to be outside this winter in some really cold temps. I really wish they carried the matching top. Next step is to find out how they will hold up over time skiing and ice climbing. Material feels nice and time will tell. The sizing chart is right on so order away, you won't be disappointed. Update: I have used these for the last week straight between hiking and skiing. Very comfortable, with this baselayer I was able to shed an additional lightweight layer and still had to unzip my outer shell once in a while to cool down! They never got or felt wet with sweat, never got stinky and hold their shape very well. I'm converted and will probably pick up a lightweight version as well down the road.

Looks like I need to be taller.

Arc'teryx Rho LTW Bottom - Men's

Arc'teryx Rho LTW Bottom - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 November 23, 2011

I figured I'd try these first, but no luck. Looks like you need to be a very tall person to wear these. I'm 5'9" and there was a lot of leg to go. WHY Arc'teryx? Construction and feel were great, but length was extremly long. Went with the Icebreaker Pursuit Leggings instead and those are perfect!

BEST FOR A REASON!

NEMO Equipment Inc. Losi 3P Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

NEMO Equipment Inc. Losi 3P Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 March 24, 2011

This is an amazing system. If you are looking for a roomier 3 person tent this is it. First the storage rollup is a great idea. Simple and keeps everything in it's place or makes it easy to divide up tent and hardware. Setup is instinctive and so easy! The Jake's Foot is really cool. I've heard people balking about it being plasic or whatever, but it is very solid. I like how the footprint attaches right to it. Pop the pole ends into the feet and clip it all together! So roomy, the wall organizer is awesome! I also picked up the loft for it as well, and is a great investment for a another spot to throw stuff. Sturdy, spacious, easy, organized what more can you ask for! Takedown is even easier. If you follow the instructions for removing the poles from the Jake's Foot, it's really a snap! The hardest part I have is folding it all back up to the appropriate size for it to slide back inside it's roll-up pocket. I'll figure that out the more I use it any-how. I am so hooked on Nemo Tents now! Get it, you'll really like it!

Black Diamond nForce Ascender

I picked these up to add to the gear and the climbing possibilities. Very happy I did! I do like these more than others because of the smooth operation. Even starting out at the end of the rope with a light pull of the "trigger" it glides up the rope nice and easy and locks solid. Have not tried with wet or icy ropes yet, but I would imagine the same performance. I paired mine up with the metolius easy aiders and wow what a perfect combo!

Mountain Hardwear Splitter Backpack - 2150-2350cu in

Mountain Hardwear Splitter Backpack - 2150-2350cu in

Rating for this product: 5 September 26, 2008

I was originally using a top loading pack for all my gear and it was finally time to get rid of it. I got tired of losing stuff at the bottom and tearing everything out of it to find it. Got this baby for my b-day and have to say it nears perfection! I'm an organization freak and it's got all the spots, allthough wasn't sure about some of the pockets at first. The mesh pocket is perfect for my shoes (and keep them aired out), there is a smaller fold over pocket for your chalk bag and loose change, and a nice roomy pocket I put my harness in which even handles the essentials still clipped to it. The other side has three gear loops for all my other hardwear with plenty of room at the bottom for misc. webbing and stuff. A nylon panel clips to cover and keep it all in place. Oh nice big tarp too! I don't know about sticking a rope in there, with all my gear it was a pretty tight fit, so I'll be keeping that to a rope bag. It's nice to get to your favorite rock, open it up and have everything right there to get ready fast. Even a last minute call to head to the rock gym the other night was easy because I knew everything was in it, where it should be, and ready to go. Comfort on the back is OK, but your not going on all day hikes with it either. I looked at many others and would say if your in the market for a crag bag this is it.

Wild and Helium sums it up. Durable smooth action biners, color coding is great, the non-slip insert on the sling is helpful, and of course super light. What more can you ask for these are it!

DMM Revolver Locking Carabiners

DMM Revolver Locking Carabiners

Rating for this product: 5 September 26, 2008

I use it for top roping as well. Takes the friction and a little stress off the rope. It is more compact than I expected and a little tight for anchoring to multiple or thicker webbing. Great otherwise!
