Best Wicking Shirt Ever!

The North Face Harvey Elk Woven Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

The North Face Harvey Elk Woven Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 13, 2009

Title really saws it all. I was really worried when I first got it that it was going to be too heavy and warm. Little did I know... The "two layer waffle construction" keeps the shirt off your skin yet completely wicks any moisture away from your body. Nothing can keep this shirt wet. Just throw a glass of water at it and find out. Even in 120*F heat, this shirt kept me clean and happy. It even does a good job of keeping the odors down when the going gets tough. Already ordered another one. This shirt is going to the top of the list for all future hiking and travel activities.

Great for beating the heat

Mountain Hardwear Leno Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Leno Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 13, 2009

Although this shirt has a few too many gimmicks thrown in, it performs all the basics flawlessly. Just to say it at the beginning, the zip up vents and pop up collar aren't the most useful features I've seen in a shirt, but MH made sure that they at least don't get in the way. The shirt is baggy enough that the vents aren't too noticeable when zipped closed and do provide a slight bit more venting when open. Overall though the shirt does such a good job wicking that the vents really aren't necessary. The shirt is really amazing in keeping you dry and looking clean. Too many wicking shirts dry you off but still manage to leave you looking wet and sweaty anyway. Not this shirt. Even in 120*F heat, this shirt always looked dry and clean and kept me feeling the same way inside. The lower seams do not rub when carrying a heavy packpack which adds to the overall comfort of this shirt. The material is super soft and comfy. It packs down easily and drys quickly. Great for backpacking or traveling light. I only wish they made this shirt without the venting to reduce the bulk. Overall though I would definitely buy again.

Great Convertibles

Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 13, 2009

Great zip offs for hiking and traveling when its hot. These pants are super soft on the skin and very cool to wear in hot weather. They are super easy to hand wash and hang dry quickly. I really preferred these to the REI convertible pants since these had a bit of stretch to them when hiking. The fit is nice and loose without being too baggy. Only complaint is the pockets are a little small. I'm not sure how well the velcro pockets will hold up but they definitely keep the pants lighter than snaps or buttons. Highly recommend these pants for traveling, hiking and camping.

Great pants for traveling or the outdoors!

KUHL Kuhl Jean Pant - Men's

KUHL Kuhl Jean Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 13, 2009

What amazing pants! I was really not looking forward to a 3 week trip without my blue jeans which had to be left at home due to bulk and hang dry time. These replacements left me comfy and happy to the point that I reached for these before my jeans when I got home. They are super comfortable and the material is very rugged yet soft on the skin. They easily dry in a few hours when hang dried and take up less than half the room (or weight) of a pair of blue jeans. The only complaint I have is that they are almost a little too baggy, even when compared to baggy cut jeans. The only other complaint is that I wish the front pockets were deeper. The pockets are huge enough to fit a small paperback into, yet they are shallow enough I constantly worried of things falling out when I put my feet up. These minor issues are easy to get over though due to the overall strength and comfort of the pants. Highly recommended for anyone needing some pants for traveling or the outdoors.
