MSR Reactor Stove

What is up with that stupid sticker???

Like Kurt Z mentioned in his review ... there is a warning sticker on the pot, containing the same warning information that is attached to the burner (the actual combustion device!) that is impossible to remove without toxic solvents. My first experience with a $160 stove ruined by a $0.25 sticker. I really hope Cascade Designs gets this one sorted out - it pissed the hell out of me, and maybe others?

Haven't really used much yet but is very impressive on first use. The first time you see the stove primed after warmup is incredible and leads you to a "wow, that is badass" moment.

Great for powder skiing

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Bib - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Bib - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 4, 2009

Been happy with this pant for inbounds use ... a bit heavier and not as well vented as I'd like in the backcountry. My only complaint is minor - if I leave the straps too loose then they fall off of my shoulders when boarding, and if I tighten them too much I get a wedgie! Otherwise, the same bomber wind and snow protection as the synchro without the worry of snow down your butt ... and very comfy.

Awesome BC ski pant

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Synchro Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 4, 2009

I've got about 100 days on a pair and have taken them into a variety of conditions from 55 degree really hot days to -20F. Go linerless on a really hot day and a simple wool liner for anything from 35 to 0F and you'll be fine, wind and snow or none. 3/4 length zip (all the way to the bottom) is great and they are such incredibly light pants. Fit's not good for shorter wider people or if your thighs are like tree trunks.

The only wear in these pants after 100 days of use is as follows: the three layers at the cuffs (brushed lining, conduit, and exterior shell) are separating and the lining has worn holes from being sandwiched and rubbed between my boot lace hooks and snowboard bindings. Oh yeah, and a zipper handle on the vent zipper popped off. After 100 days of resort and backcountry boarding, that's pretty awesome I'd say. These things are still waterproof and windproof as they are when I bought them new, though quicker to get damp since I haven't refreshed the DWR in a while.

Size it up for BC skiing

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Men's

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Men's

Just echoing the sizing comments.

The cut is pretty similar to Mountain Hardwear softshells (think Synchro). It fits fine if all you'll ever have underneath is a heavy shirt, but if you want to consider a liner of any sort size it up. The other thing is that with a beacon and other crap in my pockets I couldn't even think about staying at my normal size.

5'8" 135 lbs 36" chest and the small was a tad too small. Medium was much more like a small in other company's shell sizes, and enough room for my beacon harness, some crap in my pockets, and an insulation layer.

Haven't taken it out yet. Material feels nice - very similar to Patagonia Primo Flash shell, but this one has pit vents which the Primo does not.

How is the fit with snowboard boots that have wider outsoles? Pretty comparable product to the G10 Classic?
