This light comes with some bushings to size it down to fit a variety of sizes of bars. It's possible that it wouldn't fit on the oversized clamp area of your road bars but would fit on them after the taper.Addition: This will not fit on larger bars. Grant is correct in saying that it might fit after the taper but then the light is in the way of your hands. This light is not a good investment due to the lack of forsight in the mounting device, and lack of strength in the light itself.

Better for casual wear

Smith Method Sunglasses

Smith Method Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

I think these are great shades, for their purpose. I have tried to bike, run and climb in these glasses and climbing was the only endeavor that I was able to truly keep them on my face without having to push them up my nose constantly. These have no rubber on them to keep the eyewear in place. They are very large frames, which is good for my 7 1/2 melon, but if you have a small face or head then do not get these. Unless you want to look like Elton John.
I still have to give them a great rating though, because they are a great casual pair of sunglasses.

Best Aviators made

Smith Serpico Sunglasses - Polarized Lens

Smith Serpico Sunglasses - Polarized Lens

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

I have owned a lot of aviators in the past but these take the cake. Great construction, perfect size, they look great. They are also durable. I own two pair.
But if they do break, Smith has great customer service. One of my pair broke and I sent them back to the manufacturer. I had a new pair in the mail in less than two weeks.

Very warm

The North Face NSE Tent Mule Bootie - Men's

The North Face NSE Tent Mule Bootie - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

I was surprised at how warm these things are. My feet sweat in them everytime I put them on regardless of how cold it is outside. They are great! The only complaint is the lack of sole on them. It could be just a tad bit thicker, for more wear. A great houseshoe in the winter time if you have wood floors. I wear them around camp too

Great bag

Patagonia Critical Mass Bag - 2800cu in

Patagonia Critical Mass Bag - 2800cu in

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

This is one of the better bags I have tried out for commuting. The stability strap is positioned nicely for secure fit on a bike.
It's big, but that is a good thing if you are lugging a lot of stuff with you, and it holds up well with evenly distributed weight. The only thing I'd like different is more accessible outside pockets for the obsessive organizer that I am.

Patagonia Capilene 1 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

Good for hot weather, or as a base layer in the cold. It's definitely a workout shirt. Fits well. Patagonia has lengthened their performance wear over the last couple of years. Their capilene used to be a half shirt on me due to a long torso.

Great Down jacket

Patagonia Down Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

I've owned Mountain Hardwear, Golite, and The North Face down in the past and none of them held up like this jacket. It's a bit heavier of a down jacket due to the thicker ripstop, but it's worth it when you aren't having to patch your jacket holes with duct tape all the time. Highly recommended jacket.

A little pudgy

Patagonia Synchilla Marsupial Fleece Pullover Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Synchilla Marsupial Fleece Pullover Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

A very warm fleece pullover with great functionality to it. The fit is very old fashioned, and loose. Not form fitting at all, but it's to be expected. This is an old school piece from Patagonia and I would not expect them to change it, nor should they.
If you want a more fitted performance piece, do not get this.

Great hat, needs better colors

Arc'teryx Inga Beanie

Arc'teryx Inga Beanie

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

I love this hat, very warm. It does not have windstopper capabilities, so in windy conditions you can feel the cold cut through the hat. They could have done a little better with the color choices, in my opinion.

Awesome hat!

Arc'teryx Lt. Dan Cap

Arc'teryx Lt. Dan Cap

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

This is the best fitting hat I've ever owned. I have both colors. The flex fit is very comfortable, and the crown of the hat is deep fitting, which works well for my huge head. I'm a size 7 1/2 and it fits me great, although I probably needed to stretch it out a bit first. If you have a very small head this probably will not fit you correctly.

Sanuk!!!

Sanuk Vagabond Shoe - Men's

Sanuk Vagabond Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

I own two pair of these and love them. They stretch out so keep that in mind when ordering. They also get to stinking pretty bad when you don't wear socks with them, as I don't. Very comfy shoe though. You can also push down the heel on them and just slide your feet into them for a different fit/look. Very versatile.

Good sock with some flaws

Backcountry.com Cocona No-Show Sock - 4 Pack

Backcountry.com Cocona No-Show Sock - 4 Pack

Rating for this product: 3 November 21, 2008

A great looking sock that's comfortable. I'm used to the merino wool but the cocona is a great alternative. Flaws: I'm in agreement with others, this sock is much more prone to sliding down on your heel than any other sock I've owned. I'm not sure what about the design causes that, but it can be very annoying. I have also seen some premature wearing in some areas, which leads me to believe these socks won't hold up as long as merino does. Overall a good sock though, and worth the price.

Awesome bar, not as stiff as hoped.

Zipp Speed Weaponry SLC2 Carbon Handlebar

Zipp Speed Weaponry SLC2 Carbon Handlebar

Rating for this product: 4 November 21, 2008

Great looking and feeling bar. I picked up the pro bend version of this bar for my Orbea Orca and love it. It flexes a little more than I would like when I crank hard out of the saddle, but I'm 220 lbs so take that with a grain of salt.
Overall a very sexy bar.

5 star wheel

Zipp Speed Weaponry 404 Wheelset

Zipp Speed Weaponry 404 Wheelset

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

I have the clinchers on my Orbea Orca and love them. The perfect wheel to race in. High profile enough to get great aero effect out of them, but low enough profile to still be able to ride them in windy conditions, which you cannot with the 808's. The clinchers are durable (tubulars aren't even rated to carry a heavy rider). High quality crafted.

Saddles are subjective

Fi'zi:k Arione Cx Carbon Road Saddle

Fi'zi:k Arione Cx Carbon Road Saddle

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

Saddles all depend on the person sitting on them. Having said that, I love the Arione models from Fizik. I have the regular Arione and two of these Carbon Ariones. They are comfortable and light, not sure of the durability on the carbons but so far they are champs.

Zipp Speed Weaponry 145 Carbon Stem

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

It has a very sexy look for sure, and it's stiff. Not as light as I would have hoped, but the stiffness makes up for it. I'd buy it again.

Great all around shoe

La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

I agree with the reviewer above, the down-turned toe goes away with use. Nonetheless, still a great all around shoe for steep and slabby routes. I'm on my 5th resole, so durability is second to none.

Five Ten Anasazi VCS Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

Great shoe for the elite

La Sportiva Testarossa Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Testarossa Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 November 21, 2008

Great for steep, hard routes. Not a comfy all day shoe, obviously. Also, I would not get these shoes unless you are a solid 5.12-13 climber.
But a genius pair of shoes that will take your steep climbing to the next level.

killer shoe - smaller than the original muiras

La Sportiva Miura VS Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Miura VS Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 November 21, 2008

I love my original Muira's, so I thought I'd try these out. They are a more aggressive shoe with a bit more radically downturned toe. This is a great steep route shoe. A reviewer below stated that he thinks they are bigger than the original Muiras. My velcro's are easily a 1/2 size smaller than my original Muiras. I would advise getting a half size larger than what you wear in the lace up Muiras.

Suunto Quality Issues

Suunto Core Altimeter Watch

Suunto Core Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 3 November 21, 2008

I've heard so many great things about Suunto watches, however I've not personally experienced them. I have an X6, T1, and a Core. The X6 completely died on me 3 times and I had to send it back to Suunto each time. I bought the Core due to the functionality and sleek looks, however 2 months into owning it I had to send it back to the factory due to a malfunction as well (it is still there, and has been for 2 months). I'm currently wearing the T1 which is a cool little heart rate monitor watch with a much smaller face than the others. It's making due while my Core is away. I have to complain about the quality that I've gotten out of the watches. For a high end, high priced brand I've not seen the quality or customer service from them that I would expect.

OK-but not for me

The North Face Rucky Chucky Trail Running Shoe - Men's

The North Face Rucky Chucky Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 November 21, 2008

I bought these to train for, and run in the Pikes Peak Marathon.
Positives: Great cushioning, traction, durability is good, and they look sharp.
Negatives: I found them to not have enough arch support for my foot. They are also a wide shoe that does not work with my more narrow foot.

Pricy

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hooded Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hooded Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 November 21, 2008

I'm with a reviewer below. I like the quality of the jacket, however I don't think that it's what it once was, since they moved production to China. If you own a "before and after" version you can see differences. Nonetheless, I still vow Arcteryx quality and will continue to buy their gear till it fails me.
This jacket seems to fit a tad bit bigger than the hoodless one, not as fitted which means you can fit more layering underneath.

Patagonia R1 Flash Fleece Pullover - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

I would agree. This is a great piece that every outdoorsman should have. It's very fitted, which allows it to be worn as a base layer or alone. Moves very well and is comfortable. I wish Backcountry carried the hoodie, I'd buy it.
