Nice but cold ears

K2 Crossfire Helmet

K2 Crossfire Helmet

Rating for this product: 3 January 8, 2009

The helmet is pretty lightweight/comfortable overall and the venting is easy to use when you're skiing, but the ear things have mesh inserts in them, which means that if you're not wearing anything on your ears, they're going to be really cold. Maybe this is intentional so you'll run out to buy the ear audio things for the helmet, but I've heard they don't work very well.
I'd say as long as you don't mind wearing a hat/liner/something under the helmet in cold weather its a nice helmet, although I'd suggest waiting to get it on sale at backcountry outlet like I did rather than paying full price (if I'd paid full price I think it would have been a 2 star review).
