Volkl Katana Alpine Ski

i'm an inch shorter and 10 pounds lighter than you. i skied the 190 last season and really liked it. To answer your question on length. yes the rocker does make the ski seem a little shorter on the hard back. it skis more like a184, but in the powder(were it matters)it skis just as long as a traditional 190, but floats even better. if you are only skiing it on only powder days, i would maybe think about the 197, but i think the 190 would be better. i had a metal binding on the ski and the set up is not light. that 197 will be the heaviest ski you have ever owned.

this is the binding i would suggest. this binding will hold you in the best, and it's light. the "L" break size will fit over this ski.

Marker Griffon 12 Ski Binding

those are brake widths, nothing to do with boots sole length. if you have a wider ski than 90mm in the waist you will want the 110mm brake width. you can fit these bindings to any boot size.
