Crocs Off Road Clog - Men's

Crocs Off Road Clog - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 5, 2007

Let me begin by saying I own 5 pairs of Crocs brand clogs shoes. Crocs are molded dense sponge rubber shoes that feel great to my feet. I got started wearing them as casual shoes to be worn after bikes rides. They are cool and comfortable and just the right thing to let my feet breathe after they've been strapped into cramped cycling shoes for 100 miles of pedaling. I soon learned that they also make great yard work and gardening shoes. They can get muddy and dirty and clean up easily in the sink or at the water hose. One by one, I bought additional Crocs in different colors until now I own a blue pair, a brown pair, a red pair, a black pair, and a brown Off-Road pair with green, adjustable heel straps. Crocs shoes are easy-on, easy-off, they cushion every step you take and they even feel comfortable to someone like me with really high arches. (I'm betting they would feel good to someone with flatter arches as well). They have a wide toe box and really let the feet and toes have room to relax. They are great for everything from the beach to strolling through the mall. My only minor complaints are as follows: (1) They are kind of ugly. (2) There must be a function of the open design and the nubbies that line the inner "sole" of Crocs that combine to make a hostile environment for socks. I tend to wear out my work socks more quickly with my crocks. (3) A well-worn pair of standard Crocs will develop a smoother bottom than when it was new and be succeptble to slipping on wet, smooth surfaces such as tile floors. This problem is addressed in the Off-road Crocs as they have much more tread on the soles. All in all in all, I love my Crocs shoes. Just so you know, Crocs are a phenomena, but they didn't originate the foam rubber clogs type of shoes. Walden Kayak company quietly introduced their "Waldies" foam clogs years ago and a Canadian company has been marketing their "Holies" brand of clogs for over 5 year. Crocs looks very similar to both its predecessors and is clearly the first of the three to go mainstream.
