I have had this light for around 7 years and it's still a great light. I have used it hiking, around the house, working on cars, etc. It seems to have good battery life and good lighting for what I do. I usually just throw this in my pack and it hasn't broken yet so it's fairly rugged. It works well on my climbing helmet as well. I like the red lens too. The red helps me see at night and not blind and bother other people. When I use the lens it generally doesn't seem to bother my own vision, so to conserve batteries I usually switch it off if I enter a clearing. It seems to be a good price for a sturdy unit. So unless you need something else special, then this is a great purchase. If I lost mine I would buy this again to replace it. Another note is that for all these years every time I grabbed this light the batteries worked. I do change out batteries occasionally just because a lights without batteries aren't very useful. I have also used this in sub freezing temperatures.

I got the .75 green cam just to check these out. I've seen them on some racks but had heard mixed reviews about them. I already had doubles for big hands to fists and decided to get something for hands to fingers. Now that I have it I've been impressed. It seems very useful at doubling or tripling a rack and since they have great range it's nice to just grab this guy and it fits. This cam always goes up with me and soon so will the .5,1 and 2. These cams do have some down side. The cams do weigh a bit more than other cams, but if you are unsure about a section and don't know the size yet then you can bring 1 cam rather than a few cams. I prefer the thumb loop that the c4's have as opposed to this type, but it's not a big deal. All in all cams often come down to people's preference. I grab my c4's first and keep this one for back up on my harness, because I know once I run out of a size of cam then this will fit somewhere.

The helmet fits very well, and isn't very noticeable when worn. Even when its hot I don't notice I'm wearing it. There are plenty of adjustments to get this to fit ones head perfectly. The clips for the headlamp work quite well. I would recommend this helmet to anyone. The selection of colors is good as well. I've never had anything major fall on my head so I've never tested its limits.

These were the first bits of pro I ever purchased. I bought the 1-13 set when I was starting out and they are very solid. Personally I prefer the ease of placing and cleaning cams, but everyone needs a set of stoppers, and when set right stoppers are super strong placements and yet so lightweight. I don't really see much difference in these stoppers compared to most others of the similar shape and material. I find the useful range of these stoppers to be 4-13, though I really don't prefer placing anything lower than 9 because 9-13 have the opening, and I find I can remove these with my nut tool easier. I have had to clean these even after being weighted, and I've always been able to remove these without having to damage the rock or the nut. The color coding is helpful. A quick note according to the tech specs on this page it says "7/8 2kN", this is obviously meant to be 1/2 not 7/8.

These cams are great lightweight, great range, and they'll save your butt. The price for the range of these cams is better than the price for the range of the metolius and wild country cams. Of course this excludes the supercam models and OP's link cams, which I haven't used. Of course range isn't everything. I haven't seen many routes where you only need to place one piece of pro to get to the top. In this sense at some crags you may not need much range and quantity is more useful, in that case c4's may not be the best value. In my opinion the smaller sizes, ~.5-.3, don't seem as useful and neither are the larger sizes like 4-6, though this is obviously more dependent on the routes you want to climb. For those building a rack a great option is the .5-3 package. Oh yeah the c4's can be used "in the "open" position as passive protection." Which is a cool, unique option that could be useful someday. I definitely recommend these as the backbone for any trad rack. I have other cams, but I always place these first or at any time I feel sketched.

I really like the spirits, though not the lightest draw on the market, they clip so well. I have used a few other quickdraws and I feel this is sort of the cadillac of draws. The notchless keylock is a really nice feature. I like the little rubber piece that holds the rope clipping biner, though having this piece on the outside seems like the little rubber would get torn off. Of course I'd rather tear the rubber than the draw, plus the rubber piece is easily replaceable. Overall its great I would recommend them to any sport climber. I recommend getting one of the 11cm versions to use when stick clipping and a couple of the 25 cm versions for anchors. I've used these on trad routes as well and they work well, but I think there's better draws for trad.

I love these. They run true to the sizing chart. They whisk away moisture and they maintain a compression fit for long periods of time. They are very comfortable as well. They dry out quickly as well. I've crossed rivers and creeks in just these to keep my gear dry, and in no time these are dry again. I have a pair for every day of the week and still plan on getting more and they all look almost brand new. When worn for long periods of time they aren't too bad but what doesn't get smelly after a few days. Hot or cold these are great. And for the performance they are quite a bargain.

Great price. I do prefer the thinner sewn runners, which are much easier to clip, but these do the job for much less. I use these mainly to organize my gear, but they are quite versatile. As far as sewn runners go I like these and I think everyone should have a couple, especially for beginning trad. When climbing I don't notice the extra weight compared to the thin runners.

This was my second belay device, my first being a rescue 8. Better than the 8 for climbing, because of weight and there seems to be less rope slip. Of course this piece slips a bit even with ropes around 10mm. I haven't used it with any rope thinner than 10mm. If you want more control during rappelling try extending the atc from the belay loop and use a backup friction knot like a prusik knot. For belaying a leader the atc works great, and some slippage is a good thing, since a small amount of slippage exerts less force on the protection/anchors. Feeding rope to the leader is so much nicer than with an auto locking belay device. Another plus is that this is lightweight. I suggest buying the atc guide or petzl reverso 3 if you plan to ever do any multi pitch stuff or anything where you may have to belay off of anchors. I prefer this unit to the gri gri, though once you learn the gri gri techniques the gri gri is nice for top rope and sport climbing. If you're just starting to climb or do short rappels and stuff buy this or the atc guide or the petzl reverso 3.

The sling is great. The rubber piece holds the biner in place very very well. I've used this sling with other biners as well, not just the spirits. They aren't the lightest slings but they are very very tough, and if you break the little rubber piece you can order a bunch more from petzl for not too much. Go to a store and practice clipping with these versus other slings with the biners you are going to use. I recommend these to anyone.
