Great Socks

SmartWool Diamond Jim Sock

SmartWool Diamond Jim Sock

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2009

I cant get enough smartwool socks. These look great for dressy occasions and provide all the comfort I expect for everyday office wear. I need to order more. If you let them air dry between wearings you can definitely get several days out of them between washings. The cushioning is always welcome and they definitely don't fall down on you. Love these socks!

Quality and Style

Backcountry.com Wool Hooded Jacket - Men's

Backcountry.com Wool Hooded Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 28, 2009

I have been looking for a wool jacket for a while and finally decided to give this jacket a shot. And I must say I cannot be happier. When I first got the jacket it was a little stiff and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. After wearing it around the house for a few hours it softened up and has been warn everyday since. I am 6'3 195 with a slim build and the XL is perfect. It is a little wide but that I am used to dealing with that since I have a long torso. As far as warmth, I can wear it with a t-shirt on a windless 30 degree day. wind is a problem, but nothing adding a sweatshirt under wont handle. I also wear this under my EMS Gortex jacket and I toasty warm in 5 below. I love the hood and the pockets keep my hands warm. It has a drawstring waist. No cinching at the wrist, but an internal cuff stops the cold very well. The graphite color is pimp and i have gotten muchos complements on it from the ladies. Its nice enough to wear to the office and technical enough to wear out in the wild. Great work on getting this jacket all kinds of right. (Windstopper backing next time and i will buy another in a flash.)

So warm

Backcountry.com Lukla Touque

Backcountry.com Lukla Touque

Rating for this product: 5 January 28, 2009

What a nice beanie. I got the Abyss\Tahoe and I have to say the Tahoe is lighter then the pictures. It does however match my favorite GorTex jacket so it's perfect for me. The wool is thick and the fleece is so soft. This is a very warm hat. Almost to warm for activity outside unless its wicked cold. But if you are just dealing with the cold this hat will not disappoint. The logo is slick, I get asked all the time what brand it is. Looks like backcounty has another winner.

Dry and Light

Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

Nice jacket. Has kept me dry thru a lot of rainy days. Works well with a heavy fleece under for cold wet days. Love the pit zips and water tight front zipper. Hood is hard to get on if jacket is zipped up all the way, but it stays put when then wind tries to move it.

Over all great jacket for the money.

Excelent Shirt

The North Face XTC Midweight Crew - Men's

The North Face XTC Midweight Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 8, 2008

This shirt is perfect for fall days or as a baselayer when the temp drops. I havent been able to try out the "odor blocking" fibers for any extended trips. but it doesnt really seem to do that good of a job if a heavy workout is what you have planned. I must wash it between wears even if i hang it to dry/air out right away.

Overall it is wonderful. Keeps me just the right temp if i am working hard or just relaxing. And the Blue is a sick color. I love it!

Can anyone describe the hurricane color? It looks like a dark blue for this jacket. But other spyder products have a lighter blue picture for the hurricane color.

Smooth

Mountain Hardwear HyperDry Zip Top - Men's

Mountain Hardwear HyperDry Zip Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

I've had this shirt for about a year and half now. And I must say it's worth twice what I paid for it. I use it as a base layer outside in the cold and its works wonders. And as a top on its own when its just cool out (say 40+) It's so thin and the seems are so well done I can hardly tell I'm wearing anything at all. I will say I am a warm person in general, so a colder individual may not find it to be appropriate on it's own, but would make a great base layer.

Extremely Versatile

The North Face Volt Softshell Jacket - Men's

The North Face Volt Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

This is the best jacket I have ever owned. It is my all year jacket. In cooler weather its great on its own, and in cold conditions, a nice fleece (my choice is a Mountain Hardware Monkey Man) makes it warm in to the low teens.

This is also my primary jacket I use to coach ice skating. its full range of motion and stretch make it ideal for any winter activity. And since my winter activity in indoors I literally wear this jacket all year round.

I knew from the first time I put this jacket on I was never going to find a better all around shell. Worth way more then they are charging for it.

Burton 420 Kit

Burton 420 Kit

Rating for this product: 5 May 8, 2007

finally a company that can satisfy all my outdoor adventure needs. this little baby is perfect for storing all you need for your uplifting breaks anywhere you happen to be. very sturdy shell, however the pouch is too small for most apparatuses. but like me, you wont mind shopping for a new one, especially once you have this kit.
