The North Face Osolita Fleece Jacket - Girls'

The North Face Osolita Fleece Jacket - Girls'

Rating for this product: 5 October 24, 2011

After I bought a toddler Denali for our youngest, our oldest was feeling left out. We spotted this jacket and ordered it. My daughter loves it. The fleece is extremely soft and warm per her review. While slightly pricey, I expect to get two years of use for her and then two years of use from her sister.

My daughter was excited to get a pink jacket for the coming winter. We bought it a size larger to get two seasons out of it and I think we will. Overall great purchase at the discounted price.

The North Face Half Dome T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 24, 2011

What can I say, it would be hard to mess up a cotton t shirt - I guess they could sew an armhole shut or something. The shirt fits true to size and is comfortable which is exactly what I was expecting.

Decent glasses, but too costly for being made in Taiwan

Costa Del Mar Fantail Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Polycarbonate Lens

Costa Del Mar Fantail Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 580 Polycarbonate Lens

Rating for this product: 3 July 8, 2011

I am the first to admit I have a problem when it comes to sunglasses. I can't seem to have enough. After owning various polarized shades from Oakley, Smith Action Optics, Kaenon and Maui Jim, I thought it was time to try out Costa's. I was interested in their new 580P lens since glass lenses still scare me a bit. I chose the tortoise frame with copper lens. Overall I liked the glasses. The copper lens did amp up the color, especially greens and reds, compared my neutral gray lenses. I like the fit and style of the glasses too. They hugged my head pretty well and definitely weren't falling off with the comolded frames. I didn't really care for the integrated hinge. It just seems cheap to me. I do think overall they are very rugged and could handle abuse. My main hangup, and the reason I ended up returning these, was I couldn't pay $170 for a pair of sunglasses were made in Taiwan. In the premium pricing category, I really think Kaenon, Smith and Maui are putting out better quality products manufactured in countries that are known for better quality. And props to Oakley for making their sunglasses in the USA. Had the Fantails been made in the US, I would have kept them and probably picked up a model with the 580 glass lens as well.

Works like a charm

Suunto t6c Strap Kit 3

Suunto t6c Strap Kit 3

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2009

I have a first generation T3 and have always disliked the band. It always seemed too rubbery and I wasn't a fan of the buckle. When I saw this strap I had to give a go. I am very pleased with the materials and design and would recommend it to anyone with a gen 1 T3 who doesn't care for or has broken the band. This is not an issue but an observation; the new band (not the fusion one, but the dark one) is more of a charcoal grey and not true black and the older T3 is black. The new band does have black in it, but the majority of the band is not the same color as the watch. I have no issue with this as it doesn't look odd, but more style-conscious might object.

Gets the job done conveniently

Yakima KingPin 4

Yakima KingPin 4

Rating for this product: 4 February 2, 2009

I bought the Kingpin to transport the family's bikes on vacation to and take my roadbike to and from group rides. It performs flawlessly. I was a little worried about buying a rack that grabs the bike on the frame, as opposed to the wheel/fork, but I haven't noticed any wear on the frame to date. Being able to take the rack on and off the car quickly won out over a roof mounted system. The only pain is needing to buy an additional hitch adapter to go back and forth between receiver hitches was the only issue I had.

Oakley XLJ Gold Iridium - Just what I needed

Oakley Half Jacket XLJ Dual Replacement Lenses

Oakley Half Jacket XLJ Dual Replacement Lenses

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2008

Years ago I bought Oakley half jackets with the standard lenses. They worked great until I started using them for biking and running as they didn't provide sufficient coverage. These lenses do just the trick and I love the additional color definition offered by the gold lenses. I use them for everything from driving, biking to the occasional round of golf. I liked lens shape so well I bought black iridium to fill out my collection. As always, service was top notch.
