Dynastar Legend Pro Rider Alpine Ski 08/09 Model

Tried out these skis in mixed conditions for the past couple days, from ice to wind crust, Boot top powder. They inspire a confidence underfoot that no other ski I have ever been on does. I'm 6 3 and 180. I skied the 184 and was honestly worried it would be too short. And while I'm sure I would appreciate the 190s on deep days, the 184s were excellent. Easy to throw around in the trees yet long stiff and stable enough for me to say "screw turning" and point them through the crud. I can't vouch for the difference in stiffness from last year's that others mention but these are great for me, still definitely one of the stiffest skis on the market. Like I mentioned above, they inspire confidence underfoot so you only have to worry about terrain in front of you. That's what these ski thingies are supposed to do, right?

Rossignol S7 Caballero Alpine Ski

While I do trust Rossi skis and am stoked to see them getting into the reverse camber world, i'm inclined to be slightly skeptical of a glowing review from a sponsored rider. Although if he was involved in designing them, they obviously work for him quite well. But name dropping a resort that he doesn't have to pay to ski at? C'mon. I'm sure the S7 rips, but I want reviews from real people that paid for the ski. Everyone who has looked at any magazine recently (or ridden the tram at snowbird) knows Sage rides the S7. Let's hear from somebody else.

the look and the rossi are essentially the same binding. Jester would probably be lighter and has a wider profile to get these fatties up on edge. Those are all good choices. Can't really go wrong. Make sure you get phatty brakes!

Blizzard Answer IQ Ski w/ FR 16 Binding

not sure about the IQ system picking up snow. I looked at an early release demo of these skis last year and they looked great. the IQ system allows the ski to be mounted with just one screw, allowing full flex of the ski. There are only two set screw positions as I recall, so it does limit your mounting options. I had no complaints about the manufacturer recommended point. It does make somewhat of a recessed channel down the middle of the ski. Could potentially pick up snow. As for the FR 16 binding, it is a Blizzard labeled Marker Duke binding, modified to fit the IQ system. So it hikes like the Duke. The only complaint I've heard is that the heel riser only has one level and it is too low for aggressive climbing. I did not hike with it. But downhill, it performs very well. Stiff and fat. Big fast fun and stable at speed. Yahoo!
