Quality Jacket with Pit Zips

Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 30, 2007

This jacket was bought to replace a very similar but different brand G. M. Tech H2O jacket that I wore out in two backpacking trips in roaring downpours. I have used this jacket in only one downpour so far but I can tell that the fit, feel, and function of this jacket is the best quality I have found. I have have had lesser quality jackets and they have leaked through the linings The lining in this jacket is smooth and not grabby like the rubber coatings some others use. This jacket does not feel clammy even when in the rain for a hour or more. Dependable Brand A+

Love the Construction, Quality A+

Lowa Jannu Lo Hiking Shoe - Men's

Lowa Jannu Lo Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 30, 2007

The Jannu Lo feels semi-tight at first but the padding is firm and requires some time to form to your feet. Once your feet are formed to these shoes you tighten the laces they have as much arch support as good quality backpacking boots. I will be taking them off (LO) when crossing water. They suprised me how the toe area is firm for kicking into whatever hard pack snow you run across. These soles do not flex like some others and remind me of great quality mountaineering boots as they have a rigid disposition. They do flex just the right amount for a 50 lb. pack, my feet did not get tired. Mine were made in Italy. Thumbs Up for the Quality

Big Agnes REM Dual-Core Mummy Pad

Big Agnes REM Dual Core Sleeping Pad - Mummy DO NOT USE

Big Agnes REM Dual Core Sleeping Pad - Mummy DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 4 January 31, 2007

A little hard to roll up and get into the storage bag. It is however worth the hassle as it is a warm and very comfortable pad. I especially like the way it goes down into the backpack and is small when rolled up. Had to get rid of my other thermal pad as I did not get the rest I wanted. It was a green trail pad but was cold at 20 deg. I like the Big Agnes brand, it is better quality gear.
