  • Stomping Grounds:

Base camp is set up in Steamboat Springs CO. From there on its where the road takes me.
  • Bio:

Skiing is what drives me, its my passion and its why I live in Steamboat. Telemark is my particular form of skiing and it has changed my life, without it I'd still be in WI being bored out of my mind.

G3 Targa Ascent Telemark Ski Binding

May 29, 2011

Call up G3 or send them a message and they might be able to send some out to you. The lifter heal just flips back down, I use my ski pole to push it back down.

Voile Ski Straps 9 Through 25 inches

May 29, 2011

I'd go with the 24" rather have it be to long than to short.

It Won't Stop Your Momentum

Black Diamond Momentum AL Harness

Black Diamond Momentum AL Harness

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2011

This is the first harness I've owned and for the price you can't go wrong. Easy adjustments will confirm a snug fit in any weather. I haven't felt any pinching or binding at any time while wearing it. The only thing is that it doesn't pack down tightly but that's not that big of an issue.

This is the helmet you want. It has everything you need. Its adjustable to get the right fit for your noggin. Tons of vents so you don't sweat down into the eyes. Ear pads that can be fitted with speakers or just zip in your headphones and crank it. Goggle strap so you don't lose the gogs in a tomahawk. And it looks good too so do yourself the favor and just get it. You'll be glad you did.

Five Ten Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2011

Super comfortable and adjustable. Great shoe overall, just remember to go a size smaller cause they will stretch out a bit. My feet sweat a bit so after a day in them my feet are stained red. The laces are long so some slight modification.

Kelty Redtail 30 Backpack - 1800cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2011

I use this pack for weekend casual trips or for a sport orientated day pack. I was able to fit everything I needed for either case. Plenty of small compartments as well as ample room for bladder. Shoulder straps are comfy and good adjustment. Great pack overall.

I was able to load four pairs of big powder skis up on the rack. Super easy to use and lock. Nice to have the rack stay opened up for loading and unloading. Overall easy install as well.

Yak It Up

Yakima DoubleDown 5 Bike Rack

Yakima DoubleDown 5 Bike Rack

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2011

This rack is great. It takes a bit of time to get all the bikes loaded and secured tightly but its all good to get five bikes on the back rather than on top of the ride. Love being able to still be able to open the rear hatch and grab some gear with the one pull of a pin to lower the rack out of the way. When now bikes are on you can lower the support bars to make room in the garage. Best part is the red tips on the support rack are a good bottle opener for a brew at the end of the ride.

Give Me Some Skin

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin

G3 Alpinist Climbing Skin

Rating for this product: 3 May 26, 2011

These were my first skins so far for being the first pair, they work pretty good. I went with the longs and they fit just right for a pair of 176 twin tips. The only thing is I recommend getting the twin tip connector. I have had the tail slip off just a few times. Now go earn some.

Voile Ski Straps 9 Through 25 inches

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2011

If you Tele, then you know it sucks not having a strap to keep them from moving around. You can't go wrong with having a few of these.

Tour and X

G3 Targa Cartridge Set

G3 Targa Cartridge Set

Rating for this product: 3 May 26, 2011

These cartridges are simple and easy to change out if you don't have a multiple ski setup. The Cross Tours are just that good for touring and having a nice day on the groomers. The X Mountains are a bit stiffer and good for all around I feel. I have a pretty aggressive style and these give me good stiffness and response. All and all both are a good buy.

Reasonable Hiker

Merrell Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoe - Men's

Merrell Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2011

Great shoe for the price. My feet stay cool and comfy all day long on 10+ mile hikes with some climbing involved. I've had the shoes for about two years now and the soles are still looking good with plenty of grip. Now I don't use them everyday but they are holding up great for how old they are. Styling not the best but hey its a hiking shoe and its not all about looks.

I got the watch about 2 weeks ago and its been nice to have for sure. Its my first altimeter watch and so far so good. The functions are great and easy to use. Simple and pretty straight forward just a little heavy on the wrist is all. But time will take care of that.

Basic and Easy

G3 Targa Telemark Ski Binding

G3 Targa Telemark Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 4 May 24, 2011

These were my first bindings for Tele, and they are quite simple to work on to replace parts that have worn out or broken from a hard season. If you are just getting into the sport/lifestyle of being a freeheeler I recommend these as a good starting block.

It'll Do For Now

G3 Targa Ascent Telemark Ski Binding

G3 Targa Ascent Telemark Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 3 May 23, 2011

I had wanted to get a touring Tele binding for about two seasons and found them necessary to have once I moved to the Rockies of Colorado. I only have one season under the belt on these bindings and have snapped a cable already. They do ice up pretty easy when in touring/ free pivot mode. The cables rub a bit on the toe end as it comes off the edge. But overall they have done the job but I won't be getting another pair on any ski I purchase in the future.

Stoic Luft Insulated Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Insulated Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 23, 2011

Super pumped on this jacket, very warm and quite light. I use it on warmer ski days just by itself or on colder days layered just with a shell. Great for camping to use for a night jacket round the fire. One of my favorite jackets I own.
