Stomping Grounds:
Crested Butte, CO/SL,UT -
Bio:
I was born in Garmisch, and raised between Crested Butte, Colorado and Carrbridge. My life has been one big adventure.
I was born into ski bumming. My parents, both British, lived in Germany and Switzerland ski instructing and touring. We eventually relocated to an RV in the US., traveled to every major resort in North America, and eventually settled in Crested Butte, CO.
I grew up ski racing and attended Crested Butte Academy throughout high school. However, as soon as that ski racing could of paid off, I bailed, and went to college sans scholarship, with only the pursuit of powder in mind. Salt Lake City, is quite a good place to do this. I highly recommend it.

Pip Hunt's Packing my panniers
Created July 21, 2010
Everything I'm packing (hopefully) for a four week bike tour from Germany to France. My route starts in Garmisch Parten Kirchen, then heads south to Italy, through Switzerland and will end in Annecy, France. My panniers aren't very big, so I need to make the most of the room I have!

Salomon Czar Ski
February 7, 2011
Hey Pierre -
The Czars have been my primary touring ski for the past 2 seasons and I love them. They are a little bit heavier than the ultralight setup I previously had, but the ride back down the mountain is so much better that it is definitely worth a couple of extra pounds! I currently ski with a pair of Freitschi Freerides and they work well with the skis. However, from what I've heard about the Duke I think it is a better binding than the Freitschi's. I use the G# Expedition Climbing skins in the 110 mm. I hope that was helpful!

Marmot Portillo Jacket - Women's
February 7, 2011
Yes, this does have the women-specific fit. The Portillois not a softshell but the material is both waterproof and breathability. I'm not sure about the breathability rating though, sorry!

Smith Maze Helmet
February 4, 2010
I would recommend getting an xs. I also have a little head, and ordered the s as that is what I have worn in previous smith helmet sizes. However, the Maze does not have the helmet adjustment system that other models have, and I found the s. a little bit too big.

I wear Phenoms with my Maze and they fit perfectly. Best goggle/helmet combo I've ever had!

Hestra Seth Morrison Pro 3-Finger Glove
February 4, 2010
I have also used a hairdryer when putting the wax that Hestra sells with their gloves. The heat allows more of the wax to soak into the leather and works pretty well.
