Excellent

Sea To Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack

Sea To Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack

Rating for this product: 5 November 18, 2008

Bought this for my down sleeping bag. Being in the PNW we see a lot of rain and it keeps my bag completely dry. For the test before I hit the trail I submerged it(which it instructs you not to do) in the tub to see how it worked. The sack just rocketed back to the surface and when I opened it there was no moisture. Highly recommended.

Great helmet

Giro Monza Helmet

Giro Monza Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 November 18, 2008

The channels do a great job of keeping you head cool. The amount of weight compared to the pneumo is slightly more but for half the price who cares. When I got cut off by a car that turned left in front of me I didn't even realize I smacked my head on the pavement til I got home and saw the big rock sticking out of it. To summarize this helmet will keep your melon safe and comfortable.

Brunton 8040G Mirrored Compass

Brunton 8040G Mirrored Compass

Rating for this product: 4 November 18, 2008

This is a very good compass for the price. There are some nicer ones on the market, but for the price this one has all the features you could want.

Great for the hills

Garmin Edge 205 GPS Unit

Garmin Edge 205 GPS Unit

Rating for this product: 4 November 18, 2008

I love doing big climbs on the road bike and this makes it so I don't sound like I'm exaggerating to my cycling pals. I have the 305 with HR monitor and cadence and those parts were kind of spotty on how well the work, but the gps itself is awesome.

My favorite sweater

SmartWool Chutes Crew Sweater - Men's

SmartWool Chutes Crew Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 18, 2008

This is perhaps the most comfortable sweater I have ever owned. I originally bought it just to layer up when going hiking but I where this sweater almost every time the mercury is lower than tee shirt weather.

SmartWool Chutes Crew Sweater - Men's

November 17, 2008

It's slightly thicker than a base layer, but it's not a thick sweater. It is warm and very comfortable, though Smartwool does offer some warmer, thicker options.

Good Headlamp

Princeton Tec Fuel Headlamp

Princeton Tec Fuel Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 November 13, 2008

This is a really good lightweight headlamp. It puts out a great beam and has a good array of settings. Battery life is amazing. The only complaint is it takes two hands to adjust the angle of the beam, but that's pretty minor.

Everything you need...

Leatherman Skeletool Multi-Tool

Leatherman Skeletool Multi-Tool

Rating for this product: 5 November 13, 2008

nothing you don't. This tool is perfect for what 99% of people use their Leathermans for. The pliers and knife work great. The driver portion takes a little experimenting to figure out how you like to use it, but once you get it dialed in it's great.

One of the best

Jetboil PCS Bundled w/ Companion Cup

Jetboil PCS Bundled w/ Companion Cup

Rating for this product: 5 November 12, 2008

This is the way to go if you like to do the freeze dried meals or if you make your own dehydrated meals. Also being able to stow everthing inside of the cooking cup is very convenient. No looking around your pack for any of your pieces with this system.

Best Jacket Around

Backcountry.com Stoic eVent Shell - Men's

Backcountry.com Stoic eVent Shell - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

This Jacket is awesome. As soon as I showed it to my brother in-law he wanted to spray me with the hose to see how well it worked. The only moisture that got in at all was when he was holding the hose on the jet setting at two inches away directly on the zipper. Other people watching said it looked like a freshly waxed car with how the water just beaded up and rolled off. I also wore it jogging and had no clamminess on the inside. eVent is far superior to Gore-tex and it only gets better with washing. Great product from backcountry.com.

Another stellar product from Mountain Hardwear. The fit is great for having a harness on. Water just beads up on conduit exterior and rolls off. Great purchase.

No complaints

MSR HyperFlow Microfilter

MSR HyperFlow Microfilter

Rating for this product: 5 August 8, 2008

I have owned the hyperflow for a close to two months now and I think it's awesome. I'm always a little skeptical of new filters but I've pumped some sketchy looking water and I didn't get sick at all. I was trying to convince my hiking partner to take water straight from the source but he refused. This filter is way faster than my old sweetwater. The only problem I've been having is not realizing my camel back was full it popped off my drinking tube and sprayed all over. Great product from MSR.

Okay tool for very light repair

CRKT Guppie Multi-Tool

CRKT Guppie Multi-Tool

Rating for this product: 2 July 3, 2008

To bulky for doing a lot of jobs that you could care to use a wrench or a screwdriver for. The light isn't very bright either, but it does a decent job of opening beer.
