Not the 0.5 mm Hydroskin... but the 2mm Wetsock

NRS Hydroskin Sock

NRS Hydroskin Sock

Rating for this product: 4 March 10, 2010

I just got these from Santa (The UPS man), and the ones I received are actually the 2mm Wetsock (http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2340) from NRS, and not the 0.5 mm Hydroskin (http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2342) sock in the description.

However... they do say "Hydroskin G3" on the sock... yet on the back of the tag, it the "Wetsock (2mm)" box is checked. (Not a big deal to me... BUT there is a 5 dollar, or 20% price difference between the two on NRS' website... ahem bc!)

As for sizing, I wear a 12/13, and ordered the XXL based on the sizing chart, and they fit great. There is even enough stretch to fit over a thin pair of wool socks.

I will include a performance review when I get out of the Grand Canyon in 3 weeks.

Almost Perfect

Backcountry.com Siphon Street Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Backcountry.com Siphon Street Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 23, 2009

I am 6'5" and 200lbs, and the XL fits perfect (I wish my Siphon Primaloft jacket fit this good).

Super comfy, soft and warm, the hood is the perfect size, and the nifty hidden thumb-holes in the sleeves are a nice touch (although a bit small for my thumbs).

The two slight misses though is the lack of a drawcord in the waist, and the mesh backing in the pockets.

The bottom hem is fine, but with out a little elastic or drawcord, kinda curves outward, but just slightly.

I read another mesh pocket comment before I bought this, and thought the guy was just being picky. BUT... he was right, the mesh pockets offer no warmth to your hands. Its hard to explain, but its true.

Other than that, pretty spot on hoody!

Great Jacket

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Men's

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 29, 2009

Am 6'5", 195lbs and ordered the XL and it fits perfect, with some room for some base layers underneath. A MUCH different (read: Better, slimmer, more athletic) fit then my Backcountry Primaloft Siphon jacket of the same size. I typically have torso/sleeve length issues with my jackets, but these are ideal length.

I love the angled cut on the sleeves, ingenious! Fabric is tough and durable, I ordered this during the summer, so I don't know how it will stand up to riding in the trees, but I would have to guess that it will hold up fine.

Only down side is no snow skirt or wrist gaiters, but I knew that going in, so I can't be too bummed.

The Zipper is a little sticky (as others have commented on) but I assume it is a result of it being water tight. It's not something I lose sleep on at night though.

The Goat Floats my Boat

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 4, 2008

The Shift is Totally Dope Sick. My favorite feature is the welded pocket on the sleeve, it fits all of the ladies' digits nicely, and with the zipper pulls, it is easy to secure them in there. Trust me, you'll be thankful that pocket is there, cause when you wear this jacket, you'll get plenty of numbers.

The fabric, craftsmanship, and quality rocks. You'll be hard pressed to find better.

Only thing that would make this jacket better and more versatile would be a hood.
