La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boot - Women's

February 25, 2009

I'm looking for an all-around boot that can handle everything from light day hiking with a small pack load ~20lbs to backpacking part of the Appalachian trail with ~ 50lb load, and still handle Mt. Rainer and Alaska glaciers while still being comfortable. Would you suggestthe glacier evo or the regular glaciers?

Patagonia Burren Pant - Women's

December 15, 2008

do the pants have any stretch in them (i.e. usable for climbing) and do the sizes run large? I'm 5'4 110lbs and wear a size 2-4 depending on the company (size 0 in prana pants).

Sea To Summit The Pocket Towel

Sea To Summit The Pocket Towel

I got the larger size to use for showers during a camping trip and it worked really well. At first it seems that the towel isn't even soaking any water up but then a second later you notice that you're entirely dryed off. It's extremely light and has a silky feel, not at all rough or abrasive.

Burton Expedition Pant - Women's

Burton Expedition Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 27, 2008

I brought these with me on a week-long camping/climbing trip and ended up having to use them at night when the temp. dropped below freezing (I have a really cheap sleeping bag and am a VERY cold sleeper). They worked out great, are very cozy and soft and stretch well. The sizing is a tad bit larger than usual so I'd order a size smaller if you're between sizes. The material isn't bulky or thick either, kind of like throwing on 2 pairs of lightweights.

Black Diamond Moxie Headlamp

I got this on sale and was a great buy for the quality. Use it mainly for walking/hiking back from climbing in the evening and at night when camping. Lightweight and pretty powerful beam even on the lowest setting. Never needed to use the strobe light for anything but could see its usefulness in an emergency/help needed situation...or for disco parties in the tent.
