The biggest difference should be weight since the AT boots are meant to go uphill as well as downhill....

I bought these for the snow (and the cold pavement that comes with it). They are awesome in the cold.Just don't be afraid to tighten them down real good or you'll be waiting for the spring thaw to find that missing shoe. My dog loves em (after a few mins of some very funny looking walking that makes tourists and neighbors laugh out loud).
