Excellent Pants

Orage Gibson Bib Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 4, 2011

I've put a full season in the same pair, and they've held up better than any other ski pants I've owned. The "bib" portion, which can zip off, is a really stretchy, thin material, so it's never bunching up or feeling cumbersome. I'm also completely sold on bibs from now on...I come out of the occasional tomahawk as dry and snow free as I started.

Breathability is what you'd expect from top of the line Gore-Tex, and the ventilation is clutch for climbing or any other times you need to cool off fast.

Sizing is spot on too. Baggy enough to carry some steeze, but not getting in the way. I'm 6 ft and go with large.

Marker Duke Ski Binding

October 24, 2011

It depends on how stiff your skis are to begin with. I have them on my Line Influence 115s, and have not noticed any change in the stiffness underfoot. However, with a softer, more playful ski it could be noticeable.

Nicest Sunglasses I've Owned

Smith Touchstone Sunglasses - Polarchromic

Smith Touchstone Sunglasses - Polarchromic

Rating for this product: 5 October 14, 2011

While someone else mentioned a great fit on a larger head- I've got a more slender face and they fit very well on me as well. The lense coverage is great for mountain biking, preventing any eye watering or drying. The Evolve frame looks really cool and as everyone has mentioned, the lenses are top notch. I've got the polarchromatic ignitor lense, and I'll wear them from overcast/rainy to bright sun. They honestly improve my eyesight. Absolutely worth the $.

Line 130 Ski

October 11, 2011

I believe the only change (besides topsheet) was the removal of the carbon stringer that ran the length of the ski. I've spent a lot of time on each version, and didn't feel a discernible difference.

Stepping up the goggle game

Smith I/O Interchangeable Goggle

Smith I/O Interchangeable Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 October 5, 2011

Peripheral vision, check. Helmet compatibility, check. Comfy, check. Stylin', check. On top of those benefits, they have the easiest lens change available. No brainer!

For smaller faces, the I/OS and Phenom may fit better.

Charging through everything

Line Influence 115 Ski

Rating for this product: 5 October 4, 2011

I use this as my everyday ski. The wide dimensions and early rise provides plenty of resistance to diving when you're in the deep snow. The torsional rigidity from the metal matrix and the sidewall construction allows you to absolutely charge in every condition right down to a hardpack. The 115 really shines when you're hitting a variety of conditions during your ski day- floaty turns in the pow, straight lining crud, and groomers at the bottom- it's confidence inspiring in each of those.

It should be noted that with all of it's power, you should plan on driving the ski. It's not very forgiving if you're tailgunning in the backseat. Also, the slight twin tip and directional geometry aren't ideal for skiing switch. But hey, you aren't getting the 115 to ski in the backseat or butter on to rails- you're getting them to stomp lines and take names.
